I want a lot of pets, but if i get these four, i will never ask for another pet again, how do i convince my dad (who owns the farm we live on) to let me get these animals if they are legal?
the animals, are Kinkajou, Giraffe, Zebra, And Elephant. Are they legal in Lebanon, PA?
I will take care of them, and love them with all my heart, i just need to get them to prove my self

Just a little side note: I dont want them for show, i just want them as pets because, i love them. And dont be so doubtfull people!! just because i am young does not mean i wont devote my self to these pets, and besides i dont care if they are trained or not, i am not a TV all day person, i know how to train these animals, i am not stupid, i already have the money for all the stuff i need for them, even winter housing in the dead of summer, i will be willing to care for these animals, i am seeing about moving to a 20 acher farmland so you can bite your tongue whoever thinks i cant do it, besides, i am not a lazy bum, like all-yall out there who just watch TV and sleep all day, if i got nothing to do, then yeah i'll watch a little TV, or if its bed time, heck yeah the TV goes on, but other than that, i am a hard worker, and that id just not fair that because of age, people will under estimate me, i bet there is only one person who knows me on this site, and i dont even know who it is!!!

None of these animals are extinct and all are attainable if you know where to look. Kinkajous are very easy to get online and fairly cheap, too.
If you are seriouly looking to get these animals start doing your research. Instead of looking to get them as pets maybe you could list your status as a Sanctuary for them. Find out what permits are needed for your area and how to obtain them. It may take a few years but it is possible. It also may help if you take some courses in zoology and animal care as well.
As far as convincing your dad, once you show that you have done your research maybe he will allow it. Make sure there is a vet in your area that can care for these animals. Not all vets can.
As for the elephants, this sanctuary has training courses for the care of elephants... you can see first hand how hard it is, how much they really eat and what all is involved...

Good Luck!

There are very few places you can legally own any kind of primate. California has such strict exotic laws that I would bet they are banned in your city. These are also not animals you can keep in an apartment or let anywhere near other animals. You need to invest in a large secure indoor and outdoor habitat. They are also as much work to care for as a human infant and are more expensive. Personally I do not think anyone should own monkeys or apes. Very few people are able to maintain them safely and humanely. Pick a more realistic dream pet.

First of all i do not think a giraffe and an elephant will live in ur area. In order 2 keep exotic pets, u have 2 obtain permits in order 2 do this and have the right housing facilities for these animals. Can u afford 2 keep such pets? I really doubt it. an elepant alone can have an inefficient digestive system and digest only about 40 per cent of what they eat. They eat enormously. Estimates in the wild range from 100-1000 pounds of vegetation per day (a 16 hour period). Zoo elephants are estimated to eat approximately 50 pounds of food per ton of elephant per day. Working elephants need 300 to 600 pounds of food per day. The wild elephant is a destructive eater, uprooting and scattering as much as is eaten, often breaking down whole trees. Elephants eat almost anything green, but green grass, shoots and buds of trees and shrubs are preferred. Farms are often raided for fruits and vegetables of all types. Average daily consumption of water for full-grown animals is between 30 and 50 gallons. elephant will drink about 225 liters of water per day.
I really do not believe an elephant is a wise choice nor is a giraffe. Giraffes live in very hot climates and cannot withstand the cold.
I am not trying 2 tell u not 2 luv these fine creatures, but luv them from afar as u would never be able 2care for them the proper way they should be and besides that, these animals need 2 be free. If u moved 2 africa u could be closer 2 them, but they do not belong in Pa.

firstly you shouldnt get pets for yourself til you are old enough and moved out - otherwise when you move out what will happen to them - ALL pets should be family pets - therefore if your dad doesnt want them you shouldnt have them.
you will take care of them yourself huh??? how much money do you make a month because I expect the cost of feed and proper care (not to mention housing in winter) will be enormous.. THOUSANDS of dollars a month. You will need ALOT of land devoted to them and only them. Some of these can be mean....or unpredictable you would need proper training on how to deal with them.
The people who own exotic pets are lacking some sort of self esteme quality which they make up for by having a "show off" piece like the exotic pet.. this is sad - it is completely unfair to the animal - if you loved animals you wouldnt want to own them - you would protest people who take them from the wild.....

You will need to do some research. Most states allow exotic animals, but a permit is needed. If you are able to get a permit, you need to look at the natural habitat of the animals and compare it to what you have.
Try doing a search on your state laws. Googl "exotic pet laws in PA" to start. Try the ASPCA site too.

I very much doubt they are legal pets. Even if you did get them, where would you house them and pay for there needs? Many zoos allow people to get close and adopt such animals. Maybe it is something you sound look into. Really, Elephants, Zebras and the others belong in the wild. The only reason they are not is because they are endangered.

It snows in PA. They will not survive a winter. You want an animal that can survive all seasons, get a dog. How are you going to keep an elephant warm? Or a giraffe for that matter? The zoos have special places for their animals in the winter. You aren't capable of caring for them. What will you do if one gets sick? Just call over your regular vet? Doubtful. Besides, do you have any idea how much it would cost to feed an elephant for a year?? Be realistic.

those animals belong in the wild. it really doesnt matter how old you are. it sound slike you have plenty of animals and possibly you arent devoted to the ones you already have. youll regret the medical bills, the work (you seriously wont be able to manage those animals and school, trust me) and the fact that you took them out of their habitats, families, etc. how are you going to get these animals transported to your house anyways? have you added that to your expenses? i doubt it. stick with the small but sweet things. dont put those animals through loosing their families, being taken away from their home, and being forced to share your attention and work with all the other animals, which could lead to neglect. i know you have good intentions, because i see that you love animals, but you need to look at this from every other point of view. i have 3 horses, 5 dogs, 3 cats, 2 ferrets, and 2 fish, so i know that animals can be addictive and loveable but im contente with my animals because theyy are such wonderful, loving pets, as im sure your animals are, and besides, they need your time and love. im guessing this isnt the answer that you want, but you really must take it into consideration, please. good luck to you & best wishes.

Just visit a zoo. You can't have those animals as pets. And I doubt your parents would want to clean elephant pooh on the farm.
