Geoffrey. Geoffrey is a good name for a male donkey. We can't go confusing the poor animal now can we?!?

(Sorry - honest answer here)

A male donkey is known as a Jack (or the Jack) whereas the female is a Jenny or Jennet (or Hinnie in the UK, I believe)

A male donkey, funny enough, is called a jack.

A female is called a jennet or jenny.

Perhaps this is where the term "jackass" comes from?
