Keep in mind that a lot of the pets were brought to shelters and the owners weren't able to return asap, and they were already put up for adoption.
some of these animals were at home, with their owners, when the houses were blown away and were found later, and owners are having to fight new owners.
i've been seeing a few cases on the news about this and I was wandering your thought.
I think the animals should be returned to the former owner

My guinea pig just turned 4 years old in May, and she's been having problems for the past month. She won't eat much and she just lays there during the day. But at night she's always squeaking and she runs around her cage. I've been feeding her before I go to bed at night because she won't eat during the day anymore. I've been feeding her some carrots and lettuce, and I've given her the pellet food too. I've had her for four years (I got her at 6 months old) and she's been fine up until now.
Can someone tell me why she will only eat and be active at night now? Do guinea pigs become nocturnal on their own, or is this just a phase or something?

Where do you stand on animal testing for vaccines?
Do you think it should be outlawed and that that there should be other methods for vaccine testing?

I say: test on animals. they have immune systems and have similar reactions to our diseases.

i want to know what people involved in PETA say about this issue.

I have a hamster and I don't know its gender. I call it a girl. How can I figure out its gender and its age?
Plus, I have had her (Latte de Starbuck aka Latte) for almost 2 months and she has bonded completely with me. Are hamsters always going to run from you and jump at every touch? Will they stop squrming when you hold them?

Our 2 mediterranean spur thighed tortoise were stolen from our garden on 23/6/06.They are 6 -7"long. One is light brown and the other slightly darker and larger. They have worn shells at their tail ends where they used to play bumping each other. I have had them for over thirty years and am devastated to have lost them in this way. I hate to think that they have been split up after all this time together. Each of my two teenage children had been responsible for caring for one of them. PLEASE IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING GET IN TOUCH WE WOULD DESPERATELY LIKE THEM BACK.
