Do dogs ever get their tubes tied instead of getting a historectomy? Wouldn't it be easier, and safer? I mean, I realize that getting a dogs tubes tied doesn't make it 100% impossible, and it wouldn't get rid of them going into heat, and such... but why don't people do that as often as they get historectomies?

ok so i have in my tank several "zebra" chiclids then four other types of chiclid one of which is a "golden" this is a different genus then the zebras or any of the other fish in the tank, somehow this golden had babys ...three times, yeah kinda weird, the babys have the fins and body colors of the golden but the stripe pattern of the zebra, there bodies are something in-between . is this significant? i didn't know you could cross breed these fish. is this a new "breed" or is this completely common.

I have 10 cats and generally just use carpet powder and flea shampoo. It works fine. It does not prevent flea but after I use it they die. My vet told me flea shampoos can be absorbed into the body and can be harmful. I know flea colars are bad but I have never heard anything about flea shampoos. My vetraniarian is a very knowlegble person and I trust her opinion but I would like to get a few second opinions. It is soooo darn expensive to buy Frontline and it seems silly to when shampoo and carpet powder kills the fleas. But if it is best for my cats, then I will happily spend the money for frontline.

I mean...theyre not small, like a parakeet, or a goldfish....do they dig a giant hole in the yard?....how can they get the body in it?...I know, seems like a dumb question, but I'm from a city, not a farm.

My dad works in a welding machine shop and they found a baby blue jay in one of the storage rooms. They looked all over the place and found No visible nests or other birds. So he brought it home in a box, and we called the wildlife group near us, and they can't get out here for at least a month. However, They didnt tell me what to feed him, I've been cutting up worms and feeding him that way, but should I be giving him something else?

He's NOT that old and it looks to be that he's JUST getting his feathers.

He still has some of the baby fuzz on his head

I adopted a puppy last week, and have no idea what she might be. She's 6 weeks old and weighs approx. 2lbs. The vet said she might be a collie/lab mix, but all the information I've found on lab and collie puppies say she should weigh about 8 lbs at this age. Any ideas??

So, I have a betta fish that I prefer didn't die. His name is Oscar and he is my dorm pet.

Anyway, as of late he's been floating at the top of his tank. He has also lost color around his gill area - he's turning a brownish/tan color instead of his usual blue/red. He also seems to be sitting vertical a lot and doesn't swim around much. He doesn't eat much either. What is wrong with him, and what do I do to make him better? Thanks!

Hi... I have a male lutino cockateil and i love him to death...but i feel really guilty leaving him alone during the day, even though i leave the tv on for him. I would like to get him company but i dont want to get a female because I would not be able to take care of them if they begin to breed. Does anyone know if two males would get along?

I heard that you can tell if your duck is a male or female by listening to their quack. So what does a male and female quack sound like? I mean is one louder then the other or quieter then the other?

Seriously, she has very long, fluffy, light, floating hair. Instead of continually rolling my clothes/bed/couch I decided to try just getting her directly. She doesn't seem to mind (if she did, she'd obviously run away from me). Am I harming her?
