You can on occassion, but the nutritional needs of the fish are different. A goldfish should have more plant material in his diet. If you feed him betta pellets, give him cooked peas or squash, or a piece of wilted romaine from time to time to give him the fiber they need.

I agree with Copperhead & Patrick. This can done on occasion, but they are not the same anymore than dog food and cat food are the same (try feeding your cat dog food on a regular basis and see how well your cat does).
Goldfish and Betta can have many ingredients in common, however goldfish need much more plant material (aquatic based is best) while bettas need more aquatic proteins. A goldfish fed a steady diet of betta food will suffer intestinal problems, get bloat, and kidney infections (Dropsy).

goldfishes will attempt to eat almost everything he can get and fit into his mouth.
So, feeding goldfish with betta fish food are still okay. but dun you think its a little bit more expensive and low in quantity to feed goldfishes with betta food?

You shouldn't feed a Goldfish Betta food. Goldfish almost exclusively eat vegitable matter where Bettas almost exclusively eat insects, small crustacians and other high protein foods. They really are on the oposite sides of the spectrum.

Its perfectly allright. Both Goldfish and Betta flake food have nearly the same contents and nutrition value. Just for the sake of selling to different target clientle, they name it as Betta Food and Goldfish Food.. you can feed it.
Only specialized food such as for a Flowerhorn or Discus is different, else nearly all fish food are the same.
