"frisco" is a lab/beagle mix who has just developed this dry, cracked nose the last several months. i can't afford a vet visit and i feel horrible about that. it doesn't seem to be bothering him but it looks horrible. is there and over the counter remedy? maybe vaseline? i love him immensely so if anyone could help i would be most appreciative. thanx in advance.

I was standing outside the other day with my four yr old and looked over to see it like two ft away so I grabbed my son up really quick but the owner was at his house and said the dog was fine... but he didnt seem that nice. I get a bad vibe from him and dont feel safe letting my son play outside unless I stay within ten ft of him.

Should I call animal control just to have them tell them to keep their dog on a leash or in their fenced yard?

I continually poured cold water on my pet rabbit while it was in a cage. After repeating several times, it thrashed about, jumped high, and screeched in a high pitched tone I've never heard before. Subsequently it ran into a little house inside the cage where it refused to come out. It was shivering and trembling. My question is: can this type of stress kill the rabbit? Is it really true that fright alone can kill a rabbit? Many will wonder why I did this in the first place. The reason is that I want to make this rabbit develop into a super-rabbit that can tolerate many kinds of stressful situations better than ordinary pet rabbits. You know, like Navy SEALs--their training involves being drenched with water repeatedly and all that other stressful stuff. It toughens them up!

OK, but seriously, I know people are going to be like "Oh you are so cruel" and whatever but I seriously want a direct answer. I mean, has anyone actually tried to make a rabbit tougher?

Some cats are very devoted to their owners, and some cats can seem completely alof and moody, as if tollerating your presence until it is annoyed and scurries off or takes a swing with its claws or nips you.

I've had a couple cats that at first were very sweet, but for some reason I never learned why, they just went bad. One simply tore out the screen on a window and ran away.

My dog was recently in a big fight with stray dogs while we went away (my parents were home). Long story short, an $1100 vet bill later, he's confined to the house for the next couple of weeks, vet's orders. He's been an outdoor dog for about a year or so now (he'll be 2 next month), so we haven't had a dog inside for a while. The vet said he held his pee for 2 days while he was in the animal hospital, and for the 5 days he was there, he didn't poop until the last day. He was holding his pee when he got home for a while, even though we took him out - finally did it in the house. We scolded him, and he doesnt do it anymore unless he has no choice. Anyway, the past day or so, he hasn't peed or pooped when we take him out, and we take him out over 10 times a day. He can't stay outside alone because of the stitches/open sores, and there are flies/stray dogs around. He needs to pee so bad he's leaking small puddles when he sits down/gets up, and he whines to go out, but doesn't pee!!

i have had the same pet insurance for 8 years. ln feb 2004 my lab had a smal nosebleed. took him to the vet and was told dogs can get nosebleeds and appeared healthy. Had a couple of episodes of reverse sneezing. called the vet and was told most likely allergies. his insurance policy is from july to july. In september he had a large nosebleed and after many tests was diagnosed with nasal cancer. the insurance company refused to pay stating his iinitial symptoms began in the previous policy period and therefore not covered. No where in his medical record does it state he had cancer. I feel as if I've always done the best for my lab, securing lhealth insurance and taking him to the vet for any unusual symptoms and I feel i've been let down by both.
Could the vet have diagnosed him earlier or should the pet health insurance co take responsibilty and pay the medical cost i have incurred for his treatment. Who can i go to for advice. Is there time limitation in persuing action. thanks

Why do people get a dog and dont know anything about them?Is it to hard to get a book and read about the dog you want? And how to care for them?I think there should be a text to havea pat and kids.

Will my website with streetcatcam work at rehoming street cats?
I have recently set up a website in an attempt to get some street cats that come to my place for dinner into homes. It has live streaming video of the cats and a "kitties need a new hood" page.
I could really use advice

My neighbor has a collie and it is very cute. However, everytime someone enters or leaves my hollow, she darts in and out in front of the car. It is now getting to the point where we almost hit her. How do we stop her from doing this???

I am going to share a house with a work colleague.
He has a young big female dog, and I have two older cats. I am really afraid the dog can do something to them. My friend says the dog is very playful but docile, and has seen before cats without problems, i know my cats get quite anxious and violent with dogs.
What is the best way to deal with this?, try to get them together quickly?, separate them from the beginning?
