When my dog was spayed, I took her home from the vet, and she wouldn't eat anything. So, I figured she should be eating something. So, I made her a ham&cheese hotpocket. She it down! So, I made her another one and she ate that one too. (She no longer liked her Eukanuba) Then I made her a bowl of chicken noodle soup, and she ate that too! Since then (5 years later), she'll eat her dog food, but will quickly push it away when she smells people food. She eats everything except cucumbers. Why does she like people food so much? I've heard that dogs shouldn't eat people food, but my dog is dog is just fine. She's been eating it (not exclusively) since she was a pup, and now she's fine. She doesn't have any health problems, except she's about 5 lbs overweight her vet says.

The corner of her eye looks like it's been pulled down or something and it's very wet, like it's been leaking. Sometimes her eye looks like it's full of tears. The wet spot coming out of the corner of her eye, looks like it might have dark "stuff" in it, but she has dark fur so I'm not sure, it might just be the wetness on her fur. What should I do? Has been like this for about four-five days, it's never happened before.

My cat had kittens about three weeks ago. Five days ago, one of the kittens went to sleep on my bedroom floor and never woke up. My cat sniffed the dead kitten, yowled, and proceeded to ignore her other three kittens. We tried bottle-feeding the kittens, we tried tuna juice, we even tried a wet nurse, but the kittens wouldn't eat. Five days later, and all the kittens were dead. Their mother now walks around, making this piteous, tiny meow that she's never made before. She still eats, drinks, and uses the cat box normally, but she walks around the house crying, won't clean her fur, and is very very snuggly with me, but not in a joyous way. If I didn't know better, I would say she is grieving. Can cats grieve?

This question is in regard to my new cat, Vincent. I recently adopted him (he was a stray at animal control) and he hates his carrier. He hates it even more when I turn on the car! He cries the whole time and scratches trying to get out. Worst of all, he had defecated in his carrier and once even urinated and defecated at once. This is horrible for both of us! I have to clean it all up, and then he has to get a bath, which makes him even more upset than he already is. Any suggestions to alleviate his stress/reduce the elimination in the carrier?

My 2 year old Jack russell chased a young child this afternoon. The child's mother was so angry and the child was in tears. This is one of the problems, she chases and barks at anything that moves. I know for a fact that she would never attack or bite a person. The major problem is she CANNOT stop barking when she hears any strange noise. I have to lock her in a seperate room when anyone she doesn't recognise comes along. Please help

Just a couple minutes ago a mother rabbit dug a hole in my front yard (in the middle of the grass with no protection or cover from anything), and gave birth to about 4-5 rabbits. What the heck am I supposed to do? Those rabbits are going to just die?

I just got a new cat to go along with my old one. Both are adults and they are pretty friendly and get along, but the new, younger, larger cat always goes to eat the older one's food after she finishes her own! And the older one doesn't seem to mind. She just kind of stares at her as she eats it. How can I stop this from happening? I want them to eat the same amount.

So far, I have been locking up the older one's food and giving it to her when she asks so I can watch that only she eats it. But I can't keep doing this forever. Thanks!

I want to get a puppy and the labrador is my favorite because they are so smart and lovable. I can give it an active lifestyle but live in an urban setting and travel alot. If I could just shrink one down to about the size of a springer spaniel. Can anyone suggest a similar breed to consider? Woof.

My dogs chest seems to be bruised, and she is is moving very slow and seems to be in a lot of pain when she moves. My other dog and her like to play and they ran into each other the other day at full speed, that seems to be what hurt her.

What can I do to stimulate her milk production? And how can I encourage her to nurse her kittens? Bottle feeding is absolutley not an option for me. Nor do I have access to a surrogate mother.
