Lordie, you have a silkie that hasn't started sitting?
They love to sit, they will try to hatch anything from an egg to a rock..
Is she still laying an egg a day? If so, she will not sit until she has laid out her entire clutch, a clutch will vary from 4 to 9 eggs, depending on how big your silkie is.
Usually they will start sitting as soon as they lay out.
If she is small and starts sitting with only 3 or 4 eggs you can place more under her (use another hens eggs)
Just be sure she can completely cover all the eggs to incubate them. And be sure to put any extra eggs under her as soon as she starts sitting.
Incubation is usually in about 22 days from the start of sitting.
If there was no rooster with her, her eggs will be infertile, a chicken will lay eggs without a rooster.....but without a rooster around to fertilize the eggs they will NEVER hatch.

The hen has to get enough eggs in her clutch for a silkie it is about 6 or 7 because of her size. She will know when she is ready to sit. usually they will sit up to 25 days.depends on eggs and weather and such.Is she rolls one out it usually means it is bad and will not hatch.
