The corner of her eye looks like it's been pulled down or something and it's very wet, like it's been leaking. Sometimes her eye looks like it's full of tears. The wet spot coming out of the corner of her eye, looks like it might have dark "stuff" in it, but she has dark fur so I'm not sure, it might just be the wetness on her fur. What should I do? Has been like this for about four-five days, it's never happened before.

My cat's eye cleared up on it's own folks, so I guess I am not the animal neglector some were making me out to be...geez.

Sounds like she has a kitty cold, is she sneezing too? Sometimes if its not a sever upper respiratory infection it can clear up on its own but if she is sneezing and her eyes get crusty I would take her in. they will give her antibiotics to make sure it doesnt progress any further, gl!

You should have her checked. Eye conditions can be very serious. Sometimes excessive tearing can be to a blocked tear duct which may need to be flushed under anesthesia. Other possibilities is a foreign body lodges in the eye somewhere, maybe under the third eye lid, this can cause abrasions on the cornea which is very painful and must be treated or your pet could lose vision in the eye.
These are just a few thoughts it may be a simple infection or even allergies, either way you should have it checked to be safe rather than sorry.

It could be as simple as upper respiratory infection to something as serious as a scratched cornea, which if untreated will rupture and leave the cat blind, not to mention the pain the animal may be experiencing. Ever get something in your eye that drives you crazy? In any event, take the cat to the veterinarian. It sounds like her third eye lid is inflammed which would describe the look of her eye. Get her to the vet yesterday!

i will help you gladly :)
been there many times.
if you do not have the time or anything to take the cat to a vet. do the following:
1- put a tea bag (normal tea) in a boiled water, and let it for few min.
2- cool it to be little warm but not cold.
3- dip small cotton in it, and sweap the eyes of your cat..
4- if you can put some drops in.
i promise you the eye will get better sooner than you expect it, AND will SHINE again.
Tea is magic for the eyes.
remember, red tea, no sugar , nothing, just warm. do it 3 times if you can..

Common sense says that cat needs to see a veterinarian to find the cause of the eye irritation, in case it is something major that may lead to eyesight problems if left unattended.

Well, I've never heard of a cat's eye "leaking" so the best thing to do would probably be to take it to the vet...
