I am not tring to spark a political debated or tring to play a political roll. I have family members whom are military. I am confused. The media and certain public officials always complain about placing our troops in harms way. I always thought that when joining the army that was a given. You chose to protect our way of life and to put yourself into harms way to protect the citizens of the United States of America. It is only in recent years the Military is used as a scholorship for college. I want to know how you feel and your opinion. Please no badgering each other or being rude. Just a question.

Do you believe the u.s. government when they say "Al qaida" is planning another attack? U.S. "Intelligence" released details of a plot to target shopping malls this holiday, do you think the plot is credible or do you think it's more "scare tactics" from the Bush administration .

If he has nothing to hide, why is he reluctant to let the PJ know anything at all about the 14 messages that were sent the night Maddie mysteriously vanished?

And please don't give me any rubbish about "he has a right to his privacy" or "they're just trying to set him up", if he were truly innocent, there would be nothing to hide and he would clear himself of any suspicion by just volunteering the information.

With the Government currently considering a proposal to increase the points on a licence for being caught speeding on camera, what exactly is the point when the cameras cannot distinguish between safe and dangerous drivers? I consider myself to be safe driver but am sick and tired of seeing maniacs on the roads who slow down for cameras, then immediately speed up again, swerving in and out of traffic while they do it. In my mind cameras serve no other purpose than to raise revenue, and cynically so. Would it not be better getting more traffic police on the road than what is being proposed?

Drivers caught speeding could be given more penalty points on their licence depending on how much over the speed limit they are.

Ministers are looking at a scheme under which the worst offenders would get six points on their driving licence.

This raises the prospect that drivers could face being banned from driving for two speeding offences.

Why is it that when someone has an oppinion against Immigration they are automatically branded a racist?
All over the place Whole housing estates are being built with the intention of housing Immigrants only! Is England in danger of becoming a shanty town?
Am I the only one who is finding that this is getting seriously out of control? What happened to our rights as British citizens? Why are the great British public standing for it??

Serious question, honest views please.

Retailers Report Sluggish October Sales
By ANNE D'INNOCENZIO,AP
Posted: 2007-11-08 11:11:34
NEW YORK (AP) - The outlook for the holiday shopping season grew bleaker Thursday after retailers announced disappointing October sales results due to consumers' ongoing worries about housing and higher energy prices.

The downbeat news came from all sectors including mall-based apparel stores like Limited Brands Inc. and department stores like Macy's Inc. Even upscale Nordstrom Inc. posted a rare sales decline while Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's largest retailer, posted sales below expectations despite its aggressive discounting heading into the holidays.

Warehouse club operators including Costco Wholesale Corp. and BJ's Wholesale Club Inc. were among the few standouts, a sign that consumers are searching for lower prices.

"Overall, the sales trend continues to slow," said Ken Perkins, president of RetailMetrics LLC, a research company in Swampscott, Mass. "I think the consumer is certainly feeling the (economic) pressure heading into the holidays."

Milder than normal weather also hurt sales, wiping out consumers' appetite for winter wear.

The International Council of Shopping Centers-UBS tally was up 1.6 percent in October, below the original 2.5 percent forecast, marking the slowest October pace since 1995. The tally is based on same-store sales, or sales at stores open at least a year, considered a key indicator of a retailer's health.

What do you think, should they just divide the country into two equal halves, or should the Israelis leave the palestinians in peace after 60 something years of baby killing, land stealing? Or do you find it normal what Israel is doing, and if so why.

I can imagine the moveon.org's of the world will flip on this one. Liberals attack regardless of the situation or results. Iraq has shown significant progress yet that is brushed under the rug as liberals turn the screaming up. Why don't we all realize what a monumental challenge the war on terror is and band together, rather than attack George Bush while offering no solid alternatives other than to completely pull out and sit on our heels waiting to be attacked again?
