I was just wondering if it would have been a wise decision for the students to have all jumped on Cho when he entered the classroom firing away at the students. Would such an action prevented the deaths? Is that something we should all do in case someone comes into class with a gun ready to shoot? Also do you think it is wise to throw books at a gun man? Like if the whole class just threw books at the gun man all at once. Is this wise? I heard this on the news that students should do this.

No evidence has ever been shown that proves a gun can fill out an application, have a bank account, own a drivers license, release itself from the gun case, open a box of rounds, load itself, get angry, drive itself somewhere, and operate itself.

I never heard of a gun holding a grudge against anyone. The same can be said for automobiles, bombs, knives, blunt instruments, and even gravity.

The common denominator - and the catalyst - has been and always will be people.

Many failed to intervene when the VT shooter showed signs of instability. Thinking it wasn't their problem, they passed the buck and look what happened. Failure to place the responsibilty on the apathy of people while taking the narrow-minded approach of banning guns or stopping them from being available isn't going to change anything.

Tougher restrictions on purchasing weapons and due diligence from each one of us will go a long way toward preventing such atrocities from occurring.

The largest was Bath Michigan, in 1927, although the media are ignorant of history.

Are guns really the problem? Or is it that bullying goes unchecked and sports players and cheerleaders are celebrated while poets get censored?

When I watch the news I get mad that they refer to the President as Mr. Bush. I beleive that even if you don't like him you owe him the respect he is do, for dealing with that job in the first place. The media still calls clinton President Clinton. The media itself shows no respect for the position of President. They are the ones leading this country into the ground with this behavior. Does anyone else agree?

i would personally wanted him to be alive. don't get me wrong, him gone is fine too. but i would've been happier had he was alive, and looked into the eyes of the families of all the victims he killed. a man who basically killed himself after all he's done, there really wasnt any justice there. a friend of mine also said that, should he be alive, "put him in a maximun security jail so he can be someone's wife."

i'm an asian man who've recently faced a little bit more racial slurs and remarks because of the incident at virginia tech. but on the behalf of all asian people, SORRY. please dont let one bad apple spoil the rest.

"TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- School officials placed a Jackson Middle School teacher on paid administrative leave on Tuesday after she was found in a van with a 16-year-old student. "

"Janet Lea Hughes, 32, of Viera, was arrested Monday night after two undercover Titusville police officers found her with a student in a van parked at First Presbyterian Church."

I am one of Hughes students, and I was surprised to see this in an email one of my friends sent me. I never saw her as someone who would do this, rather, just as a teacher. Although I've accepted the fact that this happened, I still need answers.
Has this ever happened to you or a friend, and how did you deal with it?
