There is little to no controversy on whether or not it is true - it is happening. The controversy is how much man has to do with it and what the consequences are. As a scientist, I find the "man causes it” idea preposterous. That isn't to say that we are not adding to the affect and UN scientists have concluded that we are past the point of no return - it cannot be reversed by anything we do or don't do. As far as the affects, past global warming events have been beneficial to humans. Vast amounts of farmland will be created in Canada and Russia; much more then what is forecast to be "lost" (actually, just different crops will have to be grown). Whether or not that overrides the negative factors, I don't know. I suspect strongly it will cause change and political upheaval. I also see no point in destroying the current world economy and world order and probably ushering a third world war to combat a lost cause.

Global Warming is real. You'll find it very hard to find any scientists with convincing evidence that it's not happening. Those that aren't sure are more concerned if it's partially natural or if it's all Humanity's fault. I personally think that a portion of global warming is natural but a majority of the problem is Humanity's rapid growth and the excess greenhouse gases we've pumped into the air along with the drastic amount of vegetation we've destroyed.

I know seasons patterns have changed where I live, so to some extent believe something is happening, but also feel some of it is drummed up by folks looking to make money. Regardless of Global warming would like to see much tighter clean air regulations, because someday don't want see picture of Earth that looks like LA on bad smog day. Use energy efficient bulbs last fifteen years. Keep temperature as low as i can get by with in Winter and rarely use AC during summer.

The government scam is the DENIAL of global warming, just to protect the big businesses that profit from it and care nothing about the future. The president's big campaign contributors.

2000 nonpolitical scientists say it's real. It's been their life's work so they're not lying. I'm just beginning to change light bulbs, etc. and things in my life. Little by little, I hope it can help make a difference.
