Absolutely, positively NOT!!! It is simple, common sense logic, the MAJORITY (not all, because I know the VT shooter bought his guns legally) but the majority of people who use guns for illegal purposes or to hurt people are not buying guns legally anyway.

Basically, Im saying, that if there is a person out there who wants to kill, or mame, or hurt someone..even if guns are banned legally, we can all be sure that a person with that ill intent, and malice aforethought will still be able to find, and purchase the weapons illegally.

Banning guns will only prevent law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves against the people with the illegal guns who are out to commit atrosities agains humanity.

If guns are banned, law abiding citizens will then be forced to become non-law abiding citizens because thy will have to buy their protection on the black market as well to protect themselves from the criminals who will STILL be buying and toting and using arms.

All you have to do is look to other countries who have tried this approach to get your answer. The crime rate increases with arms bans. When guns are banned all that is accomplished is you take the right to protect yourself away from the law abiding citizens, the "bad guys" will still have them. There NEEDS to be a way at making sure that the laws that are already on the books for gun laws are being followed.

I know it's sounds like a cliche, but if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. The criminals will always be able to get them, but honest law abiding citizens won't. They did this in a few places, from what I've read, violent crime has not dropped, murders dropped off for a brief period, now they are back up... if someone wants to kill a person or themselves, they will find a way.
Cars kill people too... so do pools... so do kitchen knives... are we going to legislate our way into a society that banns everything that might hurt us? Where is the sense of personal responsibility? Aren't PEOPLE responsible for their actions, regardless of what tools are available?

No, I think guns need to be controled a little better as far as not letting any crazy person walk into a store and buy a gun. But if guns were banned the black market would be covered in them. We have the right to bare arms, as stated in the constitution but i think that right should be abloe to be taken away if you have a bad history or are depressed and things like that.

Guns are not the problem, Crazy people with guns are the problem. I think better screening, waiting periods (the state I live in has a 3 day wait plus background checks), certin kinds of guns should not be sold to everyone.

If we outlaw guns people will just find other ways of doing what they want.

no. i dont condemn them but id rather be prepare for anything than not be. plus, question-ask-er, i dont think youve seen family guy when a bomb went off and they had to build a new town. stewie got all mutate and produced eggs. yeah they hatched and were evil and destroying junk. the folks couldnt protect themselves. think about that!!!
and another thing, if guns were banned imagine what the government would do? or dick Chaney for that matter! theyd hide sum and bring them out when violence got too much. simple logic. think on it

if guns were banned only the terrorists and criminal elements would have them . remeber guns are an inanimate object in capable of hurting a soul by theirselves it is only after the misuse by people that they become dangerous . ie the islamics used simple knifes to take control of planes on sept 11 observe the death and destruction on that day and the following wars in afganistan and iraq set in motion by simple knifes and boxcutters . wanna save lifes and have a sensable cause ban alll islamics from public places and public transport and public roads , ban them from living in any other country except for their own . on sept 11 on that infamous day the islamics made the lifes took by guns insignificant . today to ban guns would be dumb if not suicidal .

nicely, there is fewer gun crimes. yet there'll be extra arsons, IED detonations, hit and runs and chain stated massacres. the concept acquiring rid of guns will reinstate an era of chains and brass knuckles the position the "Fonz is going to a rumble" is naive. it might nicely be that guns are extra efficient at killing than another potential, yet its also authentic that they are precise - frequently its in straightforward words the man who you element the gun at and pull the set off that dies, no longer so with burning down a rival gang member's domicile with him and his family contributors in it. those who kill with guns favor to kill. like the President stated about smoking weed, "that's the point".
