This government has sunk to an all time low in sleaze and corruption so we should not expect high standards but Mr Reid is now telling judges not to send paedophiles to prison, this is a disgrace and he should be forced out of office.

There is presently a bill, that was knocked down by the Senate, and is in the House right now to stop the freedom of speech of Americans regarding lobbying for churches and christianity on the steps of the Capitol Hill. Our founding fathers were very religious people and came here to build a new country where they could speak clearly at any time, worship when they want, and follow the Rights we are SUPPOSED to have today. What is wrong with this country when we cant speak our rights, take Under God out of the Pledge of Allegiance, and not allow public display of the Ten Commmandments. Sounds to me like the rapture is going to be here shortly, or Ms. Pelosi is a Communist, moving in for the overtaking of this country. This whole situation has me totally baffled and confused.
Then we wonder why we are sitting ducks to the terrorists. Our situation looks mighty bleak, and its about time we have someone who is not a liar, stealer, but an honest to goodness American to lead us on...

It would appear that we don't. With all the recent uproar over celebrities such as Isaiah Washington, Michael Richards, Mel Gibson, etc. speaking their minds and then being condemed for what they say, it seems that we do not have Freedom of Speech anymore. Words can only hurt us if we let them. Must we always be sensitive to other people's feelings? Should we lie to people rather than tell the truth because it might hurt their feelings? Must we censor ourselves in order to not hurt or upset anyone? Whatever happened to free speech?

I think that as long as the child is in a loving home with two adults that are able to provide for them it's great!

For those people that oppose gays/lesbians adopting children please answer me this...is it ok for a man to marry a woman (or vice versa) just to have a child then divorce so they can be with their same sex partner?

I have two friends whose dad did this...they knew they were gay, their wives knew that they were gay but thought it was a "phase", they had biological children, divorced and then raised their kids with their significant others. Is it better for gays/lesbians to have biological children or is it better for them to be able to adopt misfortunate children that are in the state's custody?

i just heard about this woman named maribel nava alvaraz (who attended public schools since she was seven yrs. old) who won a corvette from some radio station (la ley in chicago) and she cant claim it due to her being an illegal immigrant...what is worse is that the station and the Spanish Broadcasting System has an attorney that is waiting on her to sue the station...because if she files suit...then they can go after her and report her to the INS...
since then she has fled illinois, and has been in hiding for the past 8 months, and hasnt seen any family members since...what are your thoughts on this?
