no offence intended, but there is so much stuff on here about islam this, muslim that, faith the other and non of it is good. based on the premise of there is no smoke without fire, are muslims and their islamic ways (which of course they have evrey right to) causing all this aggrivation for themselves by not adapting into moden society?

About 15,000 hurricane evacuee families threatened with potential homelessness in Houston will continue to receive federal housing assistance through February, officials said Thursday.

(My bigger question is why are these people still needing assistance, they have had more than enough time to stand up, get a job and move on with life. I say give them til February, then send them to tent camps in death valley.)

The descendant of a New Zealand Maori warrior chief is campaigning for his people to claim British pensions.
David Rankin is a direct descendent of Hone Heke who played a key part in the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi between indigenous leaders and the British.

He said he would make the claim under Article Three of the treaty, which guarantees Maori "the same rights and privileges as British subjects".

Mr Rankin, head of the Matarahurahu subtribe, is considering other claims.

"We may expand the claim to include British passports, unemployment benefits, and other entitlements," he said.

It is not sure if he is American, Australian, British or of some other nationality. But my mum says he has blue eyes and light brown or blonde hair. I am contacting him to send him my belated THANK-YOU for helping to take care of my mum while she was there (something bad happened but then he came to make things right for her). She didn't tell me till now, many years later. Can anyone help? I want to show my gratitude to this kind man although I do know he may no longer be in Singapore. Any kind of contact (even letter-writing) would be good.

P.S. The man stayed in a self-serviced Regent Hotel suite throughout his career with the hotel. He is known to be neat with his things and does not make his staff clean up after his things.
