British. I can only comment on the well educated, professional ones I've known for many years. They impress me with their level of intellect, their linguistic ability (all my Iranian friends speak at least three languages), their courteous and polite manners, and the way they welcome you into their homes.
It grieves me to think that similar people, back in Iran, could die unnecessarily if the political masters of the soldier (above) decide that he is to be part of an invasion of Iran.
Most of the educated, professional people in Iran want peace and to live settled, productive lives. Unfortunately, the new Amadinajad led governemt seems to want confrontation with the West, and suppresses, in a brutal manner, any opposition. But with such a young population, many of whom long to live like people in the UK and the USA, the day will come when Iran will establish good relations with the West. It almost happened under the previous president.
Anyway, I hope I'm not alone in wanting the USA (well, Geo Bush) to hold back on plans to attack Iran... the world does not want another disastrous fiasco, surely? In any case, the Iranians are pretty well equipped and it would not be an 'Iraq-like' walkover, so our soldier could be at great risk.

I think the citizens of most if not all countries are just about the same.
They care about their families, their children, there ability to provide a living, their friends, having some fun once in a while, the things that really matter in life.
It just seems to me that when a person gets into some level of politics they go crazy, think crazy, and do crazy things.
Perhaps every soul on our planet should get together and make politics illegal.
Have fun but be safe!
