Next time you answer a question,at the bottom of the page there is a bar that tells you (you have earned 2 points) somewhere in that area there's something else like,learn more or tell me more or something like that and it will tell you how the point system works.
But you will find that you earn 2 points on every day that you log in but can only get the 2 points once in a 24 hour cycle.
Also if you look at your question it doesn't make true sence sorry being

Happens to me too. I think I know why: because last time you signed on, maybe you didn't look at your points, so the points were still "there". That way, it counted the point from last time, together with the new one! YAAAY!
