Certainly. After 3 years of useless war it is clear that Saddam's Regime didn't posess WMDs, as claimed by Bush Administration to be the prime cause of War. Neither there has been any link proved between Saddam and Alqaeeda. To refresh your memory, here is the scenario b4 the war began.

Iraq was divided into 3 zones. the northern and southern zones were declared no fly zones for All kind of Air traffic to Iraqis, be it Civil or Military. Iraqi airline was not even allowed to fly Pilgrims to perform Hajj. Iraq was not allowed to sale its oil on its own behalf, UNO doing the job under Oil for Food program. This Oil for food program was full of scandals including Cickbacks etc, for various stakeholders involved. Thousands of Children died in their infancy due to lack of medicines availablility, and millions other suffered from Malnutrition. UN inspectors had a close watch on Iraq's defence program. Successive Chief UN Inspectors, including Hans Blix denied officially, the presense of any WMDs. Iraq's Scud Missiles were being dismantled, under the observation of UN Inspectors. Iraq's Air Force was virtually non Existant. Allied forces bombarded whereever they wanted and then claimed "Sorry! we made an error". There was no sectarian violence among Shia and Sunni Muslims. People although were not very happy with the Saddam Regime, but were certainly not ready to throw Garlands on American soldiers that would come to "Liberate" them.

So what was the real cause of was? There are many. #1 is the greed of Oil. The Gas hungry SUVs need oil energy to run. Where that oil comes to USA, apart from Texas? From Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and other countries. Saudi Arabia is the biggest exporter of Oil to USA, having one of the largest known oil reserves in the world. Iraq comes second.

One important point here is that there may be known oil reservse, but extracting oil from there might not be feasible due to depth of oil reserve and associated cost of drilling etc. Iraq however is another story. In the whole world, Iraq and Saudi Arabia have the shallowest oil reserves. You can extract oil from there with minimum difficulty and maximum profit. The Saudis have close ties with Bush administration and have repeatedly assured their commitment to Supply oil to USA without any interruption. Furthermore an invasion on Saudi Arabia would mean invasion on Islam as the holiest places for Muslim are there. So War in Saudi Arabia was not an easy way to go.

Iraq however was a prime candidate for such an invasion as people, especially the Kurd minority in the Northern Iraq had strong feelings against Saddam's Regime. Sunni and Shia Muslims could have been (and indeed were) incited against each other, creating Chaos, producing still another reason to invade: "USA has come here to bring Peace and Harmony and eradicate Chaos in Iraq".

#2: During Iran-Iraq war of the 80s, USA and all the Arab states backed Iraq both financially and militarily. So the armed forces of Iraq became one of the finest (both professionalism and equipment wise) in the whole Arab World. This created a potential threat to the illegitimate state of Isreal in the Region. Isreal destroyed Iraq's Nuclear reactor using American Supplied F-16s and F-15s. The Saudi AWACS were in the Air during that operation and detected the Isreali Aircrafts. However, as the Crew was all American so Saudi Government was not informed immediately, lest they inform Iraqis to prepare for the attack. Still the scuds in the 1st Gulf war created Havoc in Isreal, so It was needed by Isreal, that Iraq be stripped of ANY weaponry that could pose a threat to Isreal. So You Americans are Fighting Isreal's war with your sons to die and with your Tax money to spend. But you would not get these kind of facts through Time, Newsweek, New york Times, Washington Post, CNN , Fox, etc. because all the media in USA is owned and controlled by Jews.

#3: After the destruction of All the Infrastructure, there would be Massive Contracts of rebuilding Iraqi Infrastructure. Who benifited with these contracts? The Kitchen Cabinet of Bush, including Dick Cheney, Rumsfield, Condoleza, etc.

Ask your representative in Senate or Congress, does his son/daughter is enlisted in the Army/Navy/Air force/Marines? No would be the answer. They need your sons, daughters, brothers, sisters to fight and die in Iraq/Afghanistan. Not theirs. Theirs are the pricey ones. Yours could be discarded in any situation. Got the picture!

I'm sorry, but as I remember it. We were at war with Afghanistan, then without warning we moved on to Iraq. War is always fought under false pretences. Who would fight so the politicians can get richer? No one in their right mind. You see all these men making these decisions on our behalf, but none of them willing to go and fight. I think George Bush wants to be the last president. Seems like he is trying to make everyword in "Revelations" come true right now during his term. I was never for this war and I never will be. How does anyone justify killing in the name of peace. There is no such thing.

Only if you want to believe the turncoats who were saying the same thing before bush ever got into office. Have to take out the regime of Saddam... Kerry, Kennedy were the chief proponents before Bush.. Saying the same things as Bush did. So who is actually misleading???? They had all that information several years before Bush took office.. so there was no misleading of the congress, as they have said repeatedly since that time. Then the senate gave Bush almost unanimous vote to go to war. How much misleading has taken place since then... and by whom, really?

False promise?

Do you think that hundreds of Iraqis and over 2000+ Americans died for a false promise?. Don't think I am naive, but I think that ONE DAY, we will look Iraq as a role model country and that will spread love, peace, and democracy in their way in their region and through out the world. Just give it a time and be patient. Japan was swore enemy of the U.S, and hostile in the Southeast Pacific, today they are for peace for all. So is liberated Germany, Austria, Poland, and so on in WWII. TIME WILL TELL YOU. You may not be around this day, but your grand children will live to see it. Don't count the bodies and be eluded by the degree of violence, be strong and be patient, this is all happening because Iraq and the Middle East is in transition for better, something I hope Africa would too.

The war in Iraq was sold to us like a cheap used car. Now we are all broken down on the side of the road.

Sure, but so was the War on Viet Nam. Check out the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution -- like this war, that one had two people vote no. Or was it three this time.

Yes - the true reason was that Sadam Hussein had threatened
to kill the President's Father.
So the War was an act of Revenge.

It was about OIL!!! and we shouldnt be ashamed to just say we went in and killed 1000's for cheaper oil!!

In fact we should keep the counrty for ourselves and kick all the people out!!

But that sounds too bad for a politician to ever say!!

Of course. And Some African country, I think it was Nigeria, was pressurized to keep quiet and not to contradict "reports" of Iraq offering to by some weapons from it.

Not the way you mean. Some of the intelligence was false, but not intentionally false.

I'm sure you don't really care...you're just an anti-war person spouting propaganda.
