It is her decision, but personnel in adoption agencies agreed years ago that it is better in the long run for children to be adopted by parents who are of the same race as them. However, it is Madonna's personal decision , and no-one can go against that.

why ask if it's "right". There are no right and wrongs to this. Madonna has taken a child from a poor situation and made their life "materially" better. (Material girl wasn't written for nothing!)
But if she can give love to a child then that is a good thing. I think she should have watched a bit more t.v then she could have donated money to every site that asks for help. If we gave a pound to everyone of these charity ads we'd need help ourselves at the end of the month. It's a bit much these days don't you think.

Why not? She has two kids already and they have a big stately home in England, money etc. However if you had asked..."Is it right that Madonna can jump the queue and have the law overlooked due to her celebrity status, to adopt a child?" I may well have had a different answer.

I would rather she spent the money on feeding and looking after more than one child. Her private jet cost £2000 an hour to fly. Think what help that journey cost would do for kids who need food, medicine and shelter. Yes to save one child is good but to help for the same cost a village would have been better.

If she was doing it for the right reasons...sure. However, I think she is looking for a new accessory to "prove" herself as being more than the shallow person she is.

Also, since her husband (?) seems to have doubts about it, does adopting a child into a family when one parent is unsure seem like a good idea to you?

Maybe...but not this one!!! The boy's mother died a week after giving birth to him and the father couldn't afford to look after him so he sent him to the 'orphanage' to be cared for - poor man. If Madonna was any kind of a mother surely she would get more self satisfaction helping the father get back on his feet and get his son back home where he belongs???????

She had to get on the Kaballa bandwagon, now it's the adopt an African kid bandwagon. I heard on some show last night that they presented her with five or six kids to choose from first.

if you were a starving african child im sure you would want to go home with her!

why shouldnt she do it - she is rich and can employ a nanny - even if thats what she does then at least the child will have a better life.
