The people upstairs from me in my new flat have got stripped floorboards, which means i can hear pretty much every word they say, and every footstep and movement. They're not noisy, they're just going about their lives as any normal person would, but it's like they're in the house with me. I believe that you're not actually allowed to have stripped floorboards in upstairs flats, but not sure if this is true? I haven't spoken to them yet as wanted to know where i stood before subtly raising the issue with them.

I always hear commercial's on the radio from stores that sell hand crafted furniture made my Amish, and Mennonite craftsman. Something makes me think they dont use power tools for building because i figure they do things strictly with their hands since their old fashioned.

I am not sure if it takes more gas to heat the house from cold twice a day (morning and early evening) than to have the house running at a constant 15 C?

We'd like an area which isn't too built up, possibly in the country, but not a million miles from everything. Not too costly either.............my Wife and I are both on an average wage........??

Ok, found a piece of property that I would really like to purchase, or acquire. Judging by the looks of the house that is on this property, it is not inhabitable and I believe even abandoned. The house has the door off,and curiosity made me go inside. It is now 2006 and I found newspapers dated 1987 and a pre-70s phone was there as well. How can I get this property? Or find out its status other then contacting a real estate agent. Is there a web site for a tax assessor? What is a good source to find abandoned property?

I purchased from a web site over a year ago called "The Burning Butterfly" they sell car airfresheners, inscence and candles. I only ordered 2 spray fresheners for car and maybe a small candle. Gave my card # and didn't get what I ordered till about 3 months later after I emailed them about their whereabouts. Here I am today, looking at bank statement that shows them taking $ from my account 9/26/06. I regretfully, haven't kept a close eye on past statements but am now researching them. I paid for my items the day they were ordered and in no way approved for further funds to be withdrawn from their company. Any answers or opinions would be helpful to know what my next step should be. Shelly

I had an outdoor light, the typical lantern type on my front porch that had an outlet on the side of the backplate and it was used to plug in our decorations. My husband broke it, and now we cannot plug our holiday decorations in anywhere unless we spend major money cutting a hole in our brick and ruining our front room wall. Do they still make these sort of fixtures? Or does anyone have one they'd like to sell or dispose of? We'd hate to be that house with an extension cord coming out of our window! PLEASE!!!

I have it threaded correctly. The tension is set at 3. I have a Singer Touch and Sew Model 645. It sews about 4", then the thread gets so bunched up, it won't go any further. It's just regular cotton/polyester fabric.
