It is cheaper and easier to have a professional repair it. It is a delicate machine and you could mess it up by trying to fix it.

Are you absolutely positive that the thread is in the right place on top? It sounds like the shuttle (the little thing that goes up and down in the center of the machine above the needle) may have slipped back from where the thread locks in position. That would definitely cause the bunching you are describing - it has for me.
It could possibly be the bobbin tension, but playing with the bobbin tension is usually not something that slips out of place - you have to manually adjust the screw in the bobbin case or in the bottom of the machine and it is tricky to know that you did it correctly.
Good luck, and hope you are sewing soon...

Something is off, the tension or something. Has it been oiled lately? Try adjusting the little screw on the bobbin holder and sew on scrap material while trying to adjust it forward and back=wards, it may take a while to get it right but you might. If not take to a Sew and Vac place. They usually charge $25. to clean and adjust it for you. If you had the book it might help, sometimes you can call co. and order the book. Good luck.

You bobbin tension needs to be tighter.. The bobbin holder has a little screw on it.. hold by the string and tighten until it won't come out on its own.. but still pulls easily. try that it should help.. you can adjust once you get it close..to the way you want the bottom stitch to look

Adjust the tension, do you have the book that came with your machine? If so, look up"Adjusting theTension" . That should do the trick. Also, do you have the right size of needle for the fabric? Sometimes that is an issue.

I have one of these too.. and it's always bobbin problems when it does this, make sure you have the correct size and type (plastic vs. metal) and that it is wound at the correct tension. When in doubt get the prethreaded versions of your bobbin.
