I am looking at a house plan that is 3,102 sq. feet. I was told there was a way to estimate the price by square footage. Is this true and could anyone tell me how to do it or about how much that would cost?

I believe the average is about $65 per square foot. This varies by location. Check out houses for sale in or around the area you are looking at and divide the price by the footage to get an idea. You can shop around for the cheapest price for the work to be done in each area of building your house but remember you get what you pay for.

It depends on where you live and what type of home you plan to build. An average stick-built home would be aroun $90-$100 per s.f. In the south it would be a bit less.
