Quick background .. I am moving from NJ in January.. I'm a hairstylist but I need to finish up about 4 months of school in California to get licensed there.. I'll be attending Paul Mitchell The School .. but I need help deciding on which location.. The first is in Costa Mesa and the second is in Alhambra. I would like to live in an area that is about a half hour drive to one of the schools.. I would also like to be as close to west hollywood and santa monica as possible, being that those would be the ideal areas for a hairstylist to work. I am going to pick the school based on the advice of others since i'm not very familiar with the area. So I guess somewhere that is in between Santa Monica and Alhambra or in between Costa Mesa and Santa monica... I am a student so I am on a budget.. I have a car .. Hope i've provided enough information pleaseeeee help me!!

I recently bought a calathea; it's about 8" high, in a 6" pot. I read up on it and know that it is a tropical plant -- likes heat and humidity. However, the ends of the leaves are turning brown and crinkling up -- and then it spreads across the entire leaf within a few days {this is with fairly young leaves, too}. Is this a disease? Does it need more humidity? Plant food? Should I transplant it soon?

I just saw a mouse in my condo and I want to know how to get rid of the thing. I would rather use something humane, but I also want something that will work... any suggestions?

Our neighbor likes to have parties in his front yard, complete with booming music that goes right through our walls, even though we live down the street! Neighbors ask him to turn it down - he won't.

He doesn't care that he is basically deciding how all of us live, and can't seem to understand that just turning down the bass would solve the problem - he says it's not his problem.

He even threatened another neighbor who asked him to turn it down. Multiple police calls later, he still doesn't get it. We've even put up sound barriers on the wall, trying to get some peace. He won't listen - what will help?

Does anyone know if the species of bats that live in Wisconsin migrate to warmer areas in the winter? I have a few in my attic and am waiting for it to get colder so I patch the spaces but I don't want to do that if they're gonna hibernate up there for the winter.

I have an arachnophobic husband, he screams like a girly when he sees one and will sprint out of the house, knocking anything in his way over.

Its autumn here in the UK and is house-spider mating season so they are prowling all over the place looking for a good time.

My cat is useless, she just bats them about with her paw but doesnt kill them.

Is there anything available I can spray round, or a powder I can dust round the house to repel them?
