You are required, and entitled, to have your own mailbox that is accessible to the postman. Your landlord should not be handling your mail. No exceptions or excuses. Your mail is private. By intercepting your mail, your landlord is actually breaking the law. Demand your own mailbox now.
Good luck with your mail.

are u sure that he is keeping your mail, the mail box is government properity. But if you an he is sharing the box, he is the owner of the box since he is your landlord. What I would do is go file a complaint with the postal service. Then contact everyone that you are expecting mail from tell them the problem. Then get you a Post Office Box. But if you have a seprate mail box, file your complaint get the person's name, date an time you spoke to this person let them handle it but if that fails. Get a lawyer

Did you ask the landlord the reason he removes your mail from the mailbox?

Taking mail that does not belong to you is a federal offense, call the landlord once and ask for your mail. Then if you don't get it right away, contact your local postal inspector and tell them what is going on. This is for the U.S.A. I don't know about other countries.

That's not a good setup at all. Your mail should go from the mailman to you. I'd make other arrangements, like a P.O. box.

If he is not giving you your mail, report him to the Post Office. And then there's the criminal code, so you can also report him to the police.
Good luck

He is in violation of FEDERAL law. Complain to your local post office, and if that doesn't work ..... kill him, and make it look like an accident.
