I accidently ran over the sewer cap with the lawn mower and now it smells something awful outside. Is this something that anybody can repair (say by going to Home Depot or Lowe's) or is this a call to the plumber?

I know that a heavy felt material is used to join two slabs of concrete. I think it is for expansion and contraction. How do you install this material when you are pouring the slab? Is it best to install it when the first of the two slabs is poured, or is better to pour up against it with the second slab? How much does it cost and where can I buy it?

we're moving into a house we have just bought and the chemical damp proof course has been done now, however there is still the effects of the damp to be re decorated. i.e: some of the paper has peeled off the walls etc. is there anything in particular i should do or be wary of when redecorating? i want to strip the paper off and have painted walls instead.

I was chipping away the ice in the freezer with a knife and a hammer when I must have poked a hole in the pastic because air started shooting out of this little hole. It was odorless and colorless. Is this freon, and is it serious? I unplugged it but it didn't stop. It won't explode or anything, will it? Will my food still be ok after that air or gas stops coming out? Can the fridge be salvaged?

I have an old Panasonic top-loading washer that came with my apartment. The last few washes have resulted in a lot of water leakage. It seems to seep out from a gap under the tube that enters near the bottom-rear of the machine. Panasonic charges around $40 to inspect the machine (no longer under warranty) and parts are extra. The agent added that they may not necessarily have parts for older machines.

Is this something that can be easily fixed, or is it not worth paying to fix an old machine?

We have a mouse in our house which is in the basement. We laid out sticky traps last night and come to find out that he went on one of those traps...and during a long battle, i'm sure, got off the trap. How could this happen? The traps are good, very very sticky and didn't think a mouse that weighs an ounce or two could get off. Theres some hair and some sticky are that's gone off the trap. Please, does anyone have any ideas here?! And I've seen the mouse a few times..he's a little brown mouse...not a rat!
