One of my Knockout roses developed blackspot this season. I removed the affected leaves and cleaned up the fallen ones. It is showing new growth :) My question is, how do I prevent it next season?

I drip irrigate in the AM so I haven't gotten water on the leaves and certainly the plant wasn't sitting overnight with water on the leaves. I can't imagine how this happened. The plant gets morning sun. My other Knockout rose planted just down from the sick one is as healthy as a horse. I bought the sick one at Wal Mart. Did maybe they do something that would have added to it?
I had it for about three months before it developed the blackspot.

Thanks for any input :)

Stupid question maybe, but I would like to know if it is possible to grow grass over a concrete slab? Details: I live in Baltimore City and have a very tiny and uninspiring concrete slab patio (enclosed by a fence) behind my rowhome. The concrete slab has a concrete border approximately 7 inches higher than the slab itself. Note: It's not feasible/affordable to break up the concrete and start anew. Just wondering if there is a way to put down a shallow amount of soil and roll sod grass over it? Is artificial grass my only option?

I've just removed a 12ft area of paving slabs from my back garden and wanted to use the area to grown vegetables but the soil underneath the slabs is full of root runners that go in all directions, and they are tough things! When I start pulling one up it runs the whole length of the 12ft area like an underground cable. I have been chopping these roots and cutting them up, but need to remove them completely.

Is there any way I can cultivate this area of my garden and is there something I can use to break up these root runners, please?. As it stands, I could maybe grow surface vegetables like cabbage, cauliflowers, brussels etc, but I wouldn't be able to grow root vegetables like carrots, beetroot, parsnips, as they would be damaged by these roots. The soil is lovely and plants grow really well in it.

Our garden is surrounded by bushes and a couple of trees, but the runners don't seem to be tree roots and the bushes are a distance away from the area. Hope someone can help?

I have a rose tree that I've kept in a large pot all summer. Now that it's near winter in Wisconsin, what do I need to do to ensure it will survive the winter? Should I trim any branches? Should I put it indoors? Do I need to still water it?

In August a friend of mine gave me a mini rose bush as a gift. I transplanted it, because the pot it was in was getting too small. It did really great for the first few months, but now all of a sudden it's drying up! Is it because of the fall, and if so, should I do anything special with it like prune it down? Or is the pot it's in getting too small on the inside and causing this strange behavior? Help!
