do we have to remove the stones first, and then lay down the topsoil, or can we just buy topsoil to cover the stones and then plant the grass? Thanks!

It was on one of those infomericals - it was 19.95 - covers 50 sq.ft. and it showed it growing on concrete (grass seed). Name of the product or link would be great! Thanks!

we just finished remodeling a house and we're moving in this weekend, i would like to start landscaping next week and was wondering about sun requirements of trees.

i like flowering cherry trees, bradford pear trees, weeping cherry trees, ect. but they require full sun.

how much sun is considered full sun?
the front of the house gets sun from sunrise to about 2:30 or 3:00, is this enough to be full sun?

Every summer there are maggots coming out of no where in my back yard.. I was just outside and noticed that now the snows gone there are alot of flies buzzing around my grass. So I was wondering are the flies dropping little, soon-to-be, maggots in my back yard this time of year?

I Just planted three gardenias in my yard. We have not been getting any rain where I'm at.
I heard you should water everyday for two weeks.

How many times a day should I water? Is it possible to over water, if so how much water is to much?

I don't know what kind of plant it is, so here's a pic of it: http://i13.tinypic.com/2q09ftz.jpg

I bought this thing already grown from the same place I got the fish. It was a normal size when I got it ... It's only been a month and a half and now it's twice it's original size! It's so tall it's now growing across the top of my aquarium.

Can I prune it down? How? And how long after I prune it will the leaves grow back?

I bought a hyancyinth bulb that came with a vase. You are supposed to set the bulb in the neck with water just under the bulb, but not touching. The bulb started to rot so I planted it in a pot. Now the green that was poking out the top when I bought it is turning brown. Is there anything I can do to save it?

For the two years I have had my house in Ohio, I have used the Scotts cycle of fertilizing my lawn, with modest results. I have had a professional calling me trying to sell me his fertilizer cycle (6 times/yr, $40/ea application). He claims that his "professional grade" fertilizer is much better than the Scotts because he calls it a dry fertilizer, or one that doesn't need immediate rain to release into the soil. His claim is that I will have a much greener and fuller lawn with less weeds.
Do you think he is pulling my chain, or do you think this could be legit? Your thoughts on the differences?

I have a flowerbed that wraps around the majority of my house. We plan to plant it full of flowers in a few weeks. We are curious to know what type of nice purple and/or yellow flowers would thrive in Kentucky this time of year.
