I would like to reseed my lawn but I live next to a creek that runs into a lake down the street. Does anyone know of a weed killer that is safe for the envioronment? Also, would it make any sense to seed my lawn without killing the weeds first?

My rose bushes have grown out of control, they are too heavy for their small stem and are currently flowering. Branches have grown in all different directions, but I would like to make my next prune right, so that they grow neatly? How?

My parents recently moved to the midwest, and were told that it will get humid in the summer. They were told that this occurs because the corn will sweat. To me this sounds kindof strange. Does corn really sweat?

It snowed here in Omaha and there's a couple of inches of it. The grass is dead for the winter time. She was stuck on a sheet of ice trying to get out of the driveway and was forced to go in the yard. The tires kicked up snow and mud but most of all, there are tire tracks everywhere. By summer, will the grass grow back normal or has the yard been ruined??

I don't think there is, but one of my friends is trying to convince me there is such a thing. Please give me proof that it's real or not like a website. Thanks! :)

I love to scrapbook and recently got engaged. I wanted to dry one of the roses from my bouquet so that I can put the dried rose petal in my scrapbook. Any thoughts on the best way to dry the rose? Hang it upside down?

My house and property sits next to a pretty busy road. I want to plant something that will look nice, but also be thick enough to shield the house and yard from noise. I live in the Washington DC area. Does anyone have any recommendations on the type of evergreen that will grow fast at first, but then can be trimmed or maintained to protect from unwanted noises and sights?

I want to get rid of the nasty grass in my back yard and heard that spreading salt in the dirt will prevent anything from growing in that area again. I just want to make sure it's true before I dig everything up by the roots and waste my time.

This actually seems like a really simple question - can I actually put plants in the garden during the winter months? I realise there is the risk of frost, but surely that risk is also there for any plants put in during the warmer months?
I'm just thinking its so mild right now, I can mail order some spring and summer plants online and get the gardening done early, before the spring.
Am I mad for even contemplating doing any gardening in the winter? I got strange looks from people in the garden centre for buying plants in November, and they are all doing well!

Cheers

Richard
