It snowed here in Omaha and there's a couple of inches of it. The grass is dead for the winter time. She was stuck on a sheet of ice trying to get out of the driveway and was forced to go in the yard. The tires kicked up snow and mud but most of all, there are tire tracks everywhere. By summer, will the grass grow back normal or has the yard been ruined??

It will not grow back unless you do something. My neighbor drove through my lawn last winter with a gigantic truck and it was nothing but mud this spring. It needed to be patched, evened out, and re-seeded. Smooth out the tire tracks as soon as it warms up, or you are going to have big impressions all over your lawn. Then as soon as it is ok to plant, spread some grass seed on it. And keep it watered...that means EVERYDAY...until it comes in. If you go to a greenhouse, they should be able to direct you to something that grows quickly and strongly in your area. And like I said, the key to sprouting new grass is to keep it watered. The minute you let it dry out, you gotta start over again. Hope this helps.

No, the yard is not ruined, but you will have a little work to do. Add enough garden top soil to any ruts or tire marks to bring them up the ground level. Once level, water then sow grass seed thickly of the areas. This will begin to grow in about a week and the area should be completely filled in by summer.

try putting grass seeds in them but they might not grow b.c of the snow, wait till the soil warms up around like 70-80 f and then plant them,

Yes, your grass will grow back. When the grass starts to grow in the spring, you may not even see one tire track. Unless the tires went deep, if it did just fill in the tire ruts and the grass will do the rest.

Cut it on the highest setting possible, then give it a good soaking with the sprinkler. I would wait till after 3:00 pm when the sun is not as strong.

Most likely it will grow back but putting a little seed down when if warms up won't hurt. Just wait til the frost is gone or else the seed will not make it.
