I have several rugosa roses that got a fungus this summer--I sprayed repeatedly but never got it handled. I have been told to spay the canes with a lime sulfur spray in late winter. The rose hips have turned red & look pretty, but should I cut the bushes to the ground this fall? Should I leave them alone until it is time to spray? Please tell me!

I need to know what to add to my already existing flower beds. The soil in my beds are lacking something. The soil is from the sugar mill, sugar house soil. Plants will grow in this soil, but they do not thrive. Do i need to add peat moss, fertilizer, etc.?

I assume that the rotation of the windmill causes some action in the metal tube that makes noise below ground to ward off moles. Can I hear the noise and is it going to be a noisy nuscience?

at least 3 cats are urinating in our front yard. tried Silent Roar, does not work - do not want to spend lots of money on this, and killing a cat is not an option. But living with it is also not an option here.

Otherwise the tree seems very healthy, except that the bark seems to be peeling a bit. What is this a sign of, and is it normal? The plant was very pot-bound when I got it, back in July, but has shown signs of new growth. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I have two jasmine sambac plants potted and kept in full sun. They flowered twice during summer and suddenly oneday they went dry. the whole plant kinda lost all its leaves and dried out. I didn't lose hopes so I kept watering it and fed it with Miracle grow bloom boosters twice. now I see leaves and the plant also gave some flowers, but the plant on the whole still looks very dry with just few green leaves and maybe a few buds. What should i do. the pots that I have planted them in are medium size pots andmy plant is almost 2ft high. Should I plant them on ground, so that the roots have more space to grow I have kept these plants in full sun now, where it gets light till 1:00pm and there after it stays in shade. Please help me save my plant. Am I doing the right thing in maintaining them. i live in Tx

I planted one in my clients garden, but some of the mature blooms died back, maybe from the shock of moisture change in soil.

But it is back in full stride, with smaller buds. I just hope it does its magic, because this plant drives my nostrils crazy and fills my brain up with desire.

I could only afford to purchase one, and it looks a bit lonely. Any suggestions on how to make one of my most favored plants to farm out quickly?

My second favorite scent, btw, is clove (a bit more manly).

And, I undersand there is a new anti-deer spray which smells like cloves (I heard about it on Public Radio). Supposedly it works wonders.

I recall you spray it on new foliage and it grows with the new foliage and holds the scent for as long as the foliage is alive. Deer hate it (amongst other pests). I never learned the name or its maker but I am interested in more details from those who 'nose' about it.

Ok, I'm getting too silly.

But thanks in advance for your response.
