My backyard was destroyed by the previous owners, its slanted and sinks in the middle and is covered with weeds and old ant bumps. I want a nice smooth yard with nice grass that you can walk in barefeet in. Is it possible that I can just dump dirt on the current grass (on top of weed blocker thats a black sheet) and just lay new grass on top? Any ideas? its a nasty backyard!

I think it has to do with the soil alkalinity or acidity. If the flowers are supposed to be blue, and are purple instead, which does my soil have too much of? How do I fix it? I live in Southern Michigan. My other blue flowers have a slight purplish tinge to them, too.

They appear to be eating holes in the leaves. They are also almost microscopic. Nasty little boogers. Can the plants be salvaged?

I have a big flower garden. It's 21'X8'. For the past 3 years I've used a wire fence. I want something different. Something more permanant. Which do you think would look better......landscape timbers or some kind of rock border?

After the growing season, I have 3 to 4 feet tall Asparagus stalks. Shoul I wait until they turn brown to cut them off? And, how exactly should they be cut (abov or below ground)?

I am a novice gardener. What are these bugs and how do I get rid of them? I sprayed for aphids a week or so ago and now this.

They seem to be mostly on my patio tomato. I have some early girls, better boys and a cherry tomato that they aren't on so much.

Thanks so much for your help!

My lawn mower has a new battery. I just filled it up with gas. It will slow down and act like it's going to cut off. Then it will speed up and the motor sounds normal again. It does this about every two or three minutes.

The leaves look similar to the papaya tree but smaller.

I have covered them with netting and even chicken wire but they some how manage to pull it off and eat my bushes to the ground. I almost lost a couple since they were broken and eaten down so low. I didn't get any blooms on them this year. I've tried store style deterients but they don't work either.
