So while my toilet was flushing the other day I went to pop off the holder and it flew right into the toilet as it was flushing. I didn't think it would go down, but there it went, right before my very eyes. Obviously it's stuck. I can't feel it if I put my hand in the bottom, but it can't have gone far. I had Roto Rooter come out and they wanted $165 to just *see* if they could get it out and $250 to unbolt the toilet to get it out. Anyone have any MacGuyver ways I could possibly get this out without having to empty my wallet for such a ridiculous predicament?

I would like to buy a miter saw for cutting crown and base moldings. A friend recommended buying a 12in saw as oppose to a 10in. Also he recommended it be a compound saw too. Any suggestions?

I am putting up a chicken run for my chickens, 5x5 feet. I have metal T-posts at each of the corners. Is that good enough or do I need more posts in between, such as those used for electric fencing?

How do you stretch the wire so that it is taut? Thank you!

Any web resources for designing and building a wheeled box on twin rails which is supposed to take small weights(groceries) up a 20 degree hill? I imagine it being operated by a winch located at the top of the hill (about 50m away from base). We are building a house on a hill and this would be a good way of not having to carry stuff up the stairs. Any ideas, plans or experiences highly appreciated!

My front porch railings haven't been painted in a few years. Now the white paint is chipped and looks terrible. It is made of wood and has the old-timey looking spindles, etc. Can someone tell me the proper steps to prepare it for painting so that when I paint, it will be easier and not such a hard job? Also, do you recommend using a primer so that the next paint job will last longer?

the section that needs to be replaced (it is 50% ripped due to high wind and the fact the screen is like 15 years old) and I need to get up there to replace it. Only thing is the section is on a slant, over the pool. How do you do it with out killing your self or falling into the pool? I dont have much money, and paying someone to come out to fix it may not be an option. I know home depot sells what I need to fix it!

I have friends with both but their views clash.
I'm considering buying one for my uncle as a birthday present, since he's a builder and I'm sure he'd adore one.
Everytime I ask around I get a bunch of "Bosch is a much better make" or "Dewalt will last much longer"
And I've seen both and read about them and also used them but I still can't decide...

Can I use a really good primer first then apply the final finish coat? Which will be an off white.
Should I just lightly scour the varnished finish so that the primer will bond into it better?
