Depending on how deep the marks go you may need bigger guns that Scotts Liquid gold. If the white marks reappear after the Scott's has absorbed in the wood, you will need Howard's Restore a Finish. It does not damage the finish but it will restore it. You can find it in the home improvement stores on the paint stain aisle and you can get it in clear or to match your wood tone. It is easy to apply, just wipe on and let it sit on the surface, then use a soft cloth to buff off the excess. In my experience, it does a better job with heat rings.

What has happened is that the moisture in the wood has been drawn up through the finish on the table. If it is something like polyurethane or varnish, you will probably need to refinish it. Oil type seals may be able to be "rubbed out".

depends on the finish on the table IE french polish or wax etc but try these if wax remove wax and re wax.if french polish or button polish etc use white vinegar, make ring with glazing putty to contain vinegar to the damaged area. .then let it soak until it disappears. if the finish is modern use a metal polish such as duraglit or brasso and rub it like mad may take several goes and you may have to do the complete top to keep it looking uniform.
