Instead of having to put down that board on top of the wood, Home Depot said I could use the flexible thinset as it would give enough to handle the wood expanding and contracting. Thoughts?

You know the kind, the cabinet gets all warped and the lining is raggy from some mishap like the dishwasher drain hose disconnecting from the drain pipe.
It's how it was when I moved in. It's dry, no mold, just annoying for me because I want to make the house as "perfect" as possible and the warping makes some of the things I store under there tip over. Clutter-y
Any ideas to fix this?
Is there a way to fix it so if there's another mishap it doesn't warp my cabinet?

I am thinking of writing an e-book on plumbing what-to-do's & what not to do with the plumbing in your home.
Plumbers make money on mistakes people make using certain cleaning products & drain cleaners, for instance.

Does that sound like a worthwhile pursuit?

My husband is a plumber of 20 years & has alot of info for preventative maintenance on plumbing fixtures, I thought people might like to know, because plumbers are not cheap!

The carpet company subbed my job out to a contracter who claims he accidentally kicked my wall in.I just had that whole area drywalled, and plastered. The guy left a gaping hole about 10x 10 inches.I didn't want to get into an confrontation with the him because he was already cranky and scary looking. I waited till he left & called the carpet company.I spoke to a manager, told him what happened and also said that they need to cover the expense of the repair. The manager stalled for time saying that he needed to pull my file( yeah right cause he found it on the computer)and that we'd hear from him tommorrow.I'm thinking they're going to try and pull some crap on me so I want to know what to do from here on out.Thanks.

In my living room I currently have one standard looking, square light switch unit (3 on/off switches) with 3 different sets of lights in the room (ceiling & wall etc). There are no other units controlling any of the lights in the room. Although it all works fine, I want to replace it for 3 dimmer switches (which i can only find in rectangle!!!) on one unit.
Am I right in saying I need a "3 gang" unit??? And how many "ways" am I looking for???

According to one advert I saw, I shouldnt overload or underload the unit (which sounds sensible). How do I know what wattage unit i'm meant to be looking for???

Thanks.... Dont ask much do i !!!

My new 8" carbide 60 tooth blade binds in 3/4" red oak on my radial arm saw. The saw is 3 3/4 HP and is in very good condition. The binding only occures when pulling through the cut not when pushing through. What is going wrong?

I was just thinking about how plastic bags are being fazed out.

Through out the world millions of bags must be used for garbage.

What are we going to replace them with?

(From the musings of a bored mind.)

I need some help. I applied lacquer to the table, waited till it dried and applied another coat. I applied 4 coats without sanding because the can said I didn't have to sand. I looked at the table and now there are little bubbles that appeared and now it has to be redone, again. The bubbles didn't appear until it was drying. I apply the lacquer with a brush and in the shade. Why am I getting the bubbles? Is there something better to use besides the lacquer? This is the second time I have to strip it and start over.

I have a full attic that isn't insulated yet. I assume blow in would be easier for an even spread, and to make life easier in a partial attic, however, since I can easily walk through my attic can I just rip open an insulation bag and start spreading it that way or does it need to get blown in for some reason?
