I moved into a new house that had carpet in the bathroom and after tearing that up, I found a couple holes in the subflooring underneath. I am not handy in the slightest and was wondering if there was an alternative to replacing the wood. Maybe a caulk or something? If I get it done professionally, it's going to cost me a lot more money than I have so the less expensive the better. Thanks in advance!

I am trying to find toilet seats for two toilets that are part of a house that was built in Boston around the turn of the century. The seats were made by the Dalton-Ingersoll Co., Boston USA (which is now out of business) and called Burmuh No. 1

A normal bolt spread on a toilet is 5 1/2" or 10" but this toilet has different specs. It has an outer set of holes with are around 3/4 inch in diameter and around 6 5/8" (from the inside of the hole) apart. This makes the holes around 7 1/2-5/8" inches apart.

An inner set of holes, which look to me to be drilled after the fact, at 1/2" in diameter and approx. 4 5/8" apart (making it close to 5 1/8-1/4" inches apart from the center).

Overall, the shape of the toilet is fairly standard round shape. Any thoughts on how I should proceed or where to look? Thank you for your help, I have pictures if that helps. Thanks again.

Hi! I'm a photographer and I'm looking to do a shoot with blue yarn in a bathtub instead of water. I know it's a somewhat ambitious (and possibly expensive) thing to do, but I was wondering if anyone could estimate how much yarn I would need (number of packages, or perhaps yards, or any other measurement). I'd also appreciate being pointed in the direction of websites that sell cheap synthetic yarn at wholesale.

Thank you in advance! :)

I'm a female and don't have a clue. Bought a cordless chargeable screwdriver and set it up and charged overnight. If I am going to use it only a few times this week (just moved) and then maybe only use it once in awhile, do I keep it on the charger constantly like a portable house phone? Or do I keep it off the charger and use it when I need it and only recharge when starting to go dead. After initial use this week, it may not be used only but once a month or so. I don't want to kill it. Thanks!!

Can the tile adhesive go straight down on the screeded floor ? Or should it still be subfloored with plywood in the same way you would when tiling onto floorboards ?

The reason I ask is that a tiler has said he'll need to subfloor it with ply and I have a feeling he is just trying to get more money out of me.

If the answer to teh questions above are no, you don't need to fit ply first, is there ever any extreme situation where you would want to do that ? Such as the screeded finish not being very smooth.

Thanks.

I am trying to install/wire CAT6 cable from basement to my dining room.(do not ask me why dining room...) I already fished cable to dining room. Next step is to connect/wire the cable to CAT6 jack and mount it to wall plate.

My question is:
Because I have wood panel installed tor my dining room, I can mount wall plate to wood panel without mounting bracket installed to wall inside. Do I need to have mounting bracket/electrical box, like Carlon product for any other reason? Can I mount wall plate to wood panel directly ?
