SIGH! My little one managed to get my scissors and very neatly cut the cord to my vacuum. We juuuust had a little 'discussion' about it. But I am bummed. Can the cord be spliced and taped? We do have a local repair person, but can this be a DIY job? Thanks!

Like when we stick something, we need to apply slight pressure. BUt how do i apply pressure while sticking beads on a dress because whatever is underneath will also absorb the glue through the fabric and stick to it!

Last time i kept a plastic sheet and it stuck to the fabric!

she doesn`t let me go to trips at school becuase she says it`s dirty, if she finds on little piece of grass she beats you and shouts like mad, she washes everything i touch, washes my shoes every day and socks and clothes, she makes me undress by the door everyday after i come home from school and have a bath, but inside its not exactly clean , like spotless, but of anyone else comes she washes everything they touch, she has covers on the sofas and we recently has ALL the grass removed from our front and back garden, it loos really ugly, she doesn`t let anyone in the house unless its the family ofcourse becuase she says then she has to clean and wash more

I'm refinishing the top of an old library table. Ideally, I really should re-laminiate it (and probably will at some point in the future) For now, I just want to sand it, stain it, and do a hand-waxed finish. I realize that it will not have a "bar top" finish (ie will not be "water proof") but I don't think that this will be an issue. What options do I have for this type of finish. I'm open to advice and recommendation, pros and cons, etc. from woodworking professionals and experienced amatures. Thanks for the assistance.

I have added insulation in the attic (12 inches) and the crawl space, new windows, checked for drafts, and shut off rooms that I don't use.

I'm just don't like paying more then a 100 bucks a month for natural gas since it is something that comes out of the ground.

I am renting a bedroom in my landlords home. He told me a few months ago that the foundation was sinking, and that the insurance company will only repair it if it has already crumbled to the ground. He said he was going to wait and let them pay for it, when it does fall. Now, aside from the absolute absurdity of his reaction, I have a situation on my hands.
He is out of town for Christmas and will return the 26th. The foundation has about a foot-long crooked crack in the beam that runs about 2 feet from the front of the house. I have heard about 3 sounds over the past 2 hours that sounds like the door is opening, but I think it's the foundation.
I know my landlord will just say *oh well, I'll deal with it when I get home*, but I'm concerned the foundation may fall before then. Should I be vacating? I don't have $ for a hotel or anything. Please let me know if you have experience or knowledge in this type of situation!
Thanks....
we don't have a written lease

I have a bunch of things I would like to give away! Mostly books or little house decorations. The thrift store here is not taking anymore donations! What do you do with the stuff you want to get rid of, but don't want to throw out?

I was thinking maybe ebay... but I'm not sure if that's worth my time or not. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
