See if the visor is removable. If it's stitched on, should be easy to remove and stitch back after washing.

Quickly. The visor part you can wash, use a scrub brush, even a old toothbrush, work the soap foam in, but don't overly saturate it and then blot immediately with a white towel. You can repeat several times ending with plain rinse water, but remember to blot in between and use your judgement, if it feels like it wants to be mushy stop.

The rest of the beanie can probably take more water, but watch out for color running.

If it's a better made beanie, the visor cold have something that is washable or dry cleanable (such as Pelon) rather than cardboard.

Take it to a professional dry cleaner and ask about whether they can clean it, if it would ruin the hat how much they would charge.. Then decide what to do. (They have probably had some experience with that and might be able to tell you what material is in the hat. and you will learn more)

I heard that you can buy a plastic holder to put the cap in at a sporting goods store. Now this is new to me but I was told the best way was to put it it a dishwasher.....yep a dishwasher...it doesn't get banged around..maybe you could try this on an old one first.....Merry Christmas
