I have an industrial sewing machine and the foot has jammed neither up nor down, so it is impossible to sew!
It had been stood for a long time and I have dowsed it in WD40, the oil in the machine is fine.
It seems to be the shaft (with the foot on the bottom) which has siezed, any ideas?

Areas on the leaves are turning black on my Kentia Paradise Palm houseplant. Can you suggest what may be wrong with it? This is a direct link to a photo hosted on Photobucket:

I recieved a gift last weekend of a potted plant which is actually an olive tree. I'm clueless when it comes to gardening. Do i leave it in the pot and water it like a normal plant or do i plant it, if so when? I live in Ireland and we don't have the hot climate i'm only guessing you need to grown one of these. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks.

we recently shifted to a new house....the interior walls are rough and havent been smoothened; in a few areas there are large water soaked discoloured patches;there is already a pinkish cream coloured paint applied all over;the house is quite large......how much would smoothening and paint work cost?
we cant afford any huge expenses right now ..... do you think we can do it by ourselves without expensive manual labour('coz we are willing 2 devote our time n energy for it!)
help!!!asap!!!

I had a new wall furnace installed in my home 2 months ago. It makes loud popping noises everytime it comes on and off, for about 10 minutes. The heating company that installed the furnace told me this is due to the metal expanding during heating and there is nothing that can be done about this. They also said that this is a common problem with wall furnances. Is this true? The company has tried to loosen the screws to relieve pressure but this has not helped. Thanks for any info.

The white powdery film was on the old bsmt. walls and seemed to deteriorate them and the walls caved in. I re-built them, but the white powdery film is back. I also have a small portion of my bsmt. floor in ground, not yet concreted, and there is a growth on that floor. It is about one inch high and when you touch it, it collapses to dust. What is it ? And How can I get rid of it ?

ok, so I let my husband pick out the floor tiles for our new bathroom floor... he picked out a cobalt blue ceramic tile... Its nice, but my question is what color do we paint the walls? The grout is gray, my toilet and shower are both white as is my vanity top. My vanity is an oak color. There is only one small window in the room and ceilings are standard hight. I dont want to close the room in and I want it too feel relaxing... Thought about a gray or tan... any other colors that would go nice? Besides white!

It was a round, green seed pod with soft spikes coming out of it. First of all, I'm not sure it's a wild cucumber. I was told it came from a vine... So my question is: Is it a wild cucumebr, and if so, will it kill him? If not, what the hell is it?
