My mom wishes our house to look like an Irish cottage. We saw some people getting stonework done by an Irish company but unfortunately we forgot to write the name down. How would I go about finding people to do a complete renovation on our house so that it looks like an Irish cottage? Thanks :)

I just moved into an apartment and the previous owners didnt take care of their linoleum floor in the kitchen. It's textured and it accumulated dirt and grim that look like black specks in the ridges. I am desperate to clean it all up but I don't want to use heavy chemicals like bleach to take it out along with the gloss of the linoleum.

If it can filter more things, all the better. But at least those two.

Not too expensive either.

My little boy brings me flowers (usually weeds like dandelions, but it's the thought) almost every day from the yard. I would like to keep some of these because they mean a lot to me. Any ideas on how to keep them from falling apart so I could put them in an album or something?

The garage door is attached to the ceiling at two points on either side by the track. On the left side it was bolted into the sheet rock- no stud! So obviously one of the screw broke and the whole left track slanted, or pivoted, further to the left (the left track is crooked)- with only 1 screw holding it on.

Because the track on the left is slanting left, it's causing the whole thing to be slanted. On the right track- the top wheel has come off the track, and when the left track moved it caused the bottom of the right track to push outward to the right bending the track. So now at the left side it hits the ground, but on the right there is about a foot of space open!

Have put in a new upper bolt to straighten out track... Can not seem to get wheel back on.... tried straightening out bent rail... door closes most of the way, but the biggest problem is making the door straight again! help? what should I do in what order?

Yesterday I put my ladder in the corner of my garage and knocked the sensor bracket off the bottom.I put bracket back on but light is still yellow the other side is a green light. When pushing the remote or the button in garage the door goes all the way up and then all the way down the door will not stay up other than that it sounds find and I had no problems until I found the bracket off.

The pot gets cleaned daily after use, but seems no matter how often or what I've tried as a cleaner, the brown stains from the coffee remain -- the lid is now so discoloured, it looks awful!!

A while ago when I forgot my keys I tried breaking into my house and messed up the metal stripping on the door frame. Ever since then the locks haven't worked properly- you can't unlock the doorknob lock.

I'm trying to get the door off so I can replace the doorknob. I've already removed the pins and the crusty paint, but we can't get it open. It isn't a deadbolt that's locked so I don't see why it should be so difficult, but it won't budge.

Any suggestions for getting my door off?

I can't afford to get a professional.

I have progress energy here in Raleigh, NC and they charge $0.10 per kilowatt which is outrageous. They are also a monopoly. I no option to switch electric companies. The home is 2300 square feet and is all electric. No gas appliances. Would it be possible to switch to a generator and just buy gas when needed? If so, how long would it be before I notice the savings?

I live in a tropical climate. The community I live is has alley ways behind the homes for utility - trash collection and such. Now we just moved into this home and removed a short chain link fence and installed a 6' tall wooden fence. There is enough space beyond the back side (facing out) of the fence to park a car. There is a concrete encasement, about 5' X 4' X 3' high, to keep the trash can in on non collection days. There is about 2 feet between my fence and the back of the concrete.
I just noticed the other day how easy it would be for anyone to stand on the concrete and jump over my fence. I would like to plant something there to make that very difficult. The space to plant is about 5 feet wide and 2 feet deep. Aesthetics are somewhat important, but it is in the back. Primarily the purpose is to block that area from a person who wishes to climb.

Thanks for any answers or suggestions.
