My mom wishes our house to look like an Irish cottage. We saw some people getting stonework done by an Irish company but unfortunately we forgot to write the name down. How would I go about finding people to do a complete renovation on our house so that it looks like an Irish cottage? Thanks :)

Depends on where you live. Most contractors are skilled to build houses typical of the general area. However, with proper research and input from you, any contractor should be able to achieve what ever look you want.

And Yes, I am a contractor, and I can do what ever the client wants(as long as it is legal, safe and code worthy).

Look for remodelers in your yellow pages. Pick three and see what they come up with and get quotes. Your present house style will determine how much it would cost to redesign it to something different, but it won't be inexpensive. You are looking at a major renovation regardless. Stonework alone does not an Irish cottage create. There is a design structure to it.

Unless your house is very, very small by American standards (under 1000 square feet), you'll never get it to look like a genuine, Old World, Irish Cottage. You'll spend a lot of money and actually decrease the value of your home. Look at houses in your neighborhood that you SAW being remodeled but looked like they had always been that way when the work was finished. Consult the contractor who remodeled THOSE houses. He'll tell you what is possible.

The most important ways that the people can combat global warming is getting rid of their older model cars (1979 Buick) because, older cars emmitt more toxic fumes into the air. Its obvious that the more technological advanced a car is, the less harmful gases it emmitts. A car that was built 3 or 4 years ago will be more economy friendly than a car that was assembled 35 years ago. For high populated cities such as New York, Bus and Taxi companys should replace current vehicles with cars that are powered by hydrogen or electricity. Just think, if every major city used the Toyota Prius as taxi's, there would be a decreased level of pollution, and also taxi fares could be drastically lower as well.
