I want to see if it's worth the $1300 they charge compared to the others that range from $29 to $59.

You get a free demo disc and a 60 day refund....worth a try. Actually the cheaper ones are very limiting!! If you are playing around for your home, they can help. If for clients, forget it, go with the better program. You'll need big memory and a great graphics card. I can't really tell about materials takeoff on this one, that could be a bonus. Remember your printer! Or be close to Kinkos to enlarge. Larger prints sell.

Where were these when I was designing......eons ago?? I didn't want to take time to become a CAD master.
