I need help picking out a new vacuum cleaner. I don't want to spend more than $150 and I want something bagless. Other than that, I'm lost. There's so many choices! Any ratings or opinions would help alot. Thanks!

Also, is it possible to mastic over old mastic, or will it not adhere
properly. Both questions apply to my shower enclosure, which
I am re-tiling. The join is that which connects the shower tray
to the tiles on the wall.
Thanks in advance.

This is a commercial place and the nite time employee's are opening the doors/windows but keeping the air conditioners on. Does this increase our costs or does it just allow fresh air to circulate with the air that is being cooled inside by the conditioners. The doors and windows are only on 1 side of the building..The air conditioners are up too high for the staff to deal with. Any suggestions?

I live in Maine and bought my first house in June. The heating season is coming and I don't have a clue on how to get a good deal on home heating oil. I don't want to pay anymore than I have to. Can anyone help?

We had a new driveway (combination asphalt and concrete) installed a few weeks ago. Our next project was to paint the large shed in our backyard. In the process, there was a great deal of splattered paint and drippings that landed on that new driveway.

How do I SAFELY remove these paint splatters/drippings WITHOUT damagine the new asphalt and concrete?

Thanks.

I found a strange shrub in my garden today. The leaves look like ivy, but are shinier and a lighter green, and it has small white blossoms and dark purple berries that look frightfully much like belladonna.
What is it?

I thought that's practically what bleach was made for... to clean white cotton. I really think these sheets need a thorough cleaning and I wanted to soak them in bleach. But the tag says not to use bleach on them. Why? I've never seen this on sheets before...

I had some petrol left for my lawnmower from last year. I filled the tank with fresh petrol (about 8 litre), obviously contaminating whole content of my tank. The lawnmower had difficulty in starting. When it started it ran OK but it started kicking back when I started the engine again. I suspect the trouble is with the oxidized petrol I have in the lawnmower and the tank. I do not want to waste this petrol. Can I use it in my car? Are car engines more tolerant than small petrol engines? May be the problem lies somewhere else and not in the "bad petrol". Perhaps someone out there knows?

The lock on my bedroom door is supposed to keep people out, right? It has a little tab you turn to lock it on the inside, but on the outside part of the knob, there is a little slit, not designed for a key, just a little area, where u can stick virtually anything around the same size, a comb, a ruler, even a fingernail, and u can turn it from the outside to unlock it.

Does anyone know of anything that i can do so that people cant open from the outside? it kinda destroys the point of having it, because no one in my house knocks

We removed a valance from our living room which had an old outlet (outside of the wall, in an electrical box). There is a switch on the wall that only goes to the electrical box, now hanging from the wall. We would like to remove the wiring and switch, but are not sure how to go about it.

I have been stripping stain off of a hutch for about a week now. I ran out of stripper and found a can in my basement with a little bit left, which is all I really needed to finish this job. This one you spray on. Well it seemed to dry up and I was stuck trying to scrape that off which isn't easy. My husband suggested that maybe it was old and to try spraying over that with more stripper. So I bought the same type. It did work but then I decided to use it to get the rest of the stain off. The same thing happened. Not as bad though. Does anyone have any idea why it may have dried up like that? And is there another way to get stripper off. I really don't want to buy more.
