What would you pay if someone came to your door with an aerial picture of your house or farm in a frame and everything. I was thinking anywhere from $60-$100. What do you think?

My mother would like to trim her lilacs, she has a row of about 10 that are about 20 years old. They need to be about half their size. What is the best way to cut them? We have heard that cutting them can cause them to stop flowering for good which obviously she doesn't want. Should she cut them or let them keep growing? She's really nervous, they used to be my grandmothers. Specific answers would be great! Thanks!!!

Okay, I finally decided to remodel the 1950's bathroom in my one bedroom condo. It's not a large bathroom - just a tub, toilet and vanity - virtually no additional space. I have a contractor but am stuck on a couple of decisions. 1st. I would ideally like to get a pedestal sink as it would make the bathroom appear much larger, however, aside from the medicine cabinet, I wouldn't have any storage space. I conidered buying 2 or 3 recessed medicine cabinets and having them lined above the sink and toilet. Could look cool if it looked like one big medicine cabinet or could look horrible.

2nd, I think I am going to get wainscoting along the walls instead of tile. If I do what tile should I get that would look okay with white wainscoting in a smallish bathroom. I wanted to stick with all white (potentially subway tile) as the monochromatic theme would help the room look larger but would it look like a hospital bathroom?

One more - shower door vs. shower curtain?

Thanks

I have a room with about 7 wall mounted lights on a single circuit, with an OLD dimmer switch. Regular CFLs don't work with dimmer switches, and the new "dimmable" CFLs generally only work with NEWER dimmer switches. Since we don't USE the dimmer at all and I have a TON of free CFLs from Yahoo Answers, can I just replace my dimmer switch with a normal ON/OFF switch and then use the CFLs? Or is there still a problem because there are 7 of these lights on one circuit? Anybody know?

As you should change your underware everyday
-How do you wash your underwears? Do you wash them separately or with other clothes?
- How often you wash your underwears? (everyday?)

-Do you handwash them or you use machinewash?

I have a 4" to 6" PVC shaft for my well. Coming from my house is the wires that go to the electric submursalbe pump that I beleive is at the bottom of this shaft. I believe I have a bad pump due to it works gfopr a few seconds and shuts off. I added 20 min of city water to my well just in case it was dry and the pump worked for 40 seconds. So I think I need to remove the pump to replace it. Someone has tired a nylon ropr to the pump but it won't budge. I also notice a rode down approx 4' from the top. not sure if this someho plays a role in the removal of the pump?

I want to transplant sedum (I have tons of it) from our primary residence to vacation home residence 200 miles away (both are in Maryland). Can I do it now? It is in 'bloom'... When I transplant it back home, I just pull on one stem, plop it in the ground, and in a year it gives me a 'cabbage-like' bush. I usually do this in the spring though. Can I do it now (Aug/Sep)? I don't care if it look bad after transplant, I just want it to come back in the spring.... Any pointers? Thanks!

Just bought a home with new slate floors and slate bathtub walls. How can I tell if they have been sealed? If they have not, do they have to be sealed? And if they have to be sealed, where can I buy sealer at?
Also- there are marble or granite tile counter tops in the kitchen and bathroom. Do they have to be sealed?
Obviously I've never dealt with natural stone tiles before.
Thank you for your help!

I have an Ikea wood table with an ash acrylic-based veneer. I want to polyurethane it to protect it from spills, scratches, & other wear & tear. Has anyone done it? I'd like some tips on how, whether to use acrylic-based semigloss, and whether to spray, or paint with a bristle brush or foam brush. Do I have to sand first?

How do I separate the two areas? My kitchen/living room is square shaped -- the kitchen is at the top of the box, my living room takes up the right side and bottom of the square and the left side of the box is the entrance into the apartment.

Currently, I have a waist-high bookshelf with plants separating the entrance area from the living room, a butcher block table separating the kitchen from the entrance and a table running along the far right side of the square.

There's too much going on and not enough delineation to make the two areas look separate. Any suggestions how to improve things?
