Dust your sunflowers with a little bit of Sevin.

savour the finches! Seeing finches on your sunflowers is a competent reason to plant them first of all. they're harvesting the seeds. it won't kill the flowers. Sunflowers are annuals besides, and whilst they have flowered and produced their seeds, the flowers will gradually die returned. in case you had to maintain the seeds for your self, you may positioned a bag over the flowerhead to guard the seeds from hungry birds.

Hello,

We had a similar problem on our farm, try using deet and sprinkling it around and on your sunflowers, be careful not to breath it in though because the tiny particles can harm your lungs.

A good blast of water from a hose every day will greatly decrease the populations of harmful insects and slugs on a plant. Plus it's cheap, the plants can use the water, and it's very low toxicity.

I use the spray Sevin. It will kill any kind of bug you have. It is safe for all flowers. I use one spray on every plant & NO more bugs any where. Great stuff.
