The cheap pine quarter-round is splintering when cut. Because one side is rounded, and the angles are crucial, I can't cut from the back. I'm using a compound miter saw. When I revert to cutting the laminate flooring or oak baseboard, the cuts are smooth. It must be the cheap pine... but buying all new quarter round is not an option (there's lots of it). I need extra blades anyway... what blade do I need get smooth cuts on cheap pine without splintering? Thanks!

Or are the rabbits eating your garden?

Are the raccoons getting into your trash bins?
Maybe skunks or Opossums eating from your bird feeders?
Do you welcome them or try harder to keep their presense unknown?

I made my old gas grill into a 55 gal. spit/grill. The replacement burners don't provide even heat distribution. I thought of making my own burner. I am just not sure of what materials are best. Steel type, hole size, ventilation, etc... The grill operates off of the stock dual lp valve control.

I just bought a house that has been a nightmare for me. This is my first house and I cut serveral corners trying to purchase it including not getting an inspection. Since moving here, I've discovered problems with electrical outlets in the bathrooms, bootleg cable wiring, and after a few shingles blew up on the roof, the insurance agent said the roof will need to be replaced soon. I fear that I will have a hard time selling it because of the color of the exterior the outdated wall paper on the interior. Also I bought it for about $10,000 above the average home in this area. I would rather go back to renting until I can afford a newer home closer to the city. I don't want to put much money into the house and I've decided to stay for at least a year. What's the best way to sell without losing any money? Would it be better to use an agent and try to sell it the old fashioned way, or should I use one of those quick sell companies just to get rid of it and maybe make a few (very few) bucks.

With a green marker - not a permanent one but it's not coming out. My couch is some sort of normal material. I've tried scrubbing it with carpet stuff and scrubbing it with a magic eraser. Now I have smeary green and a big water stain around it. I just got this couch which was very expensive for my little budget and I'm desperate to fix it! Is there a way, or is it trash??

I keep seeing these bugs in my basement. Most I've seen are dead and curled up; they have very little legs and look like centapedes, and when they are alive, they are fast! What are they?? They're about an inch in length and have a width of about a millimeter. They are creepy! What do I do to get rid of them??

I've also seen ladybugs, dead worms, large black mospuitoes, and another kind of bug that is like the one mentioned earlier, but moves like a worm or a slug, expanding and contracting across the floor- it is mch slower. They're the same size and width. What do I do??? This is getting out of control, and I'm getting an increaing aversion to my basement.

Ok so I needed to get some home repairs done on my new house (old house but had it less than 6months) It first started with bats flying into my house through the chimeny so the bat catcher gave me a number to a chimeny repairman because it needed to be tuckpointed. After several no shows and misses on both parts we finally got in together and he bid $550 to fix the chimeny, new cage on top, and fix the hole in my ceiling (ac story). Well the morning that he was suppose to come out and fix my ceiling he called and said he had an emergancy at another home and since I would be at work just leave the deposit in the mail box and he would work on the chimney on the outside while I was gone. He was suppose to leave an invoice in the mailbox. When i got home from work the check was gone, no invoice, and it didn't seem like any work had been done. Suppose to come out the next day but never showed. Haven't been able to get ahold of him and he won't return my phone calls. what do I do?

It is a Tecumseh engine. On top of the flywheel are three holes near the crankshaft but they are not threaded. Do I use a knockoff tool or a tool that pulls it off? Or is there a special tool used only on Tecumseh engines?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

I just moved into this apartment, which is on the ground floor of a 5 year old building. The water pressure in the bathroom and kitchen sinks is VERY strong, but the shower is like a spritzing. When I lived in a different unit on an upper floor in this building, the shower water pressure was normal.

How do I improve the water pressure? I have access to my water heater tank thing and I know it has some dials, etc. Or, would it be better to replace the shower head?

Thanks!

It's about 10 feet long, but here's my problem- we do not have rain gutters (and my husband says we can't afford to put any up yet) and the flower bed is right underneath where the rain comes off the roof. So when it rains, any flowers that I have planted get demolished and uprooted. I need to plant something that can take the beating. I was thinking ivy. Will this work? Any other ideas?
