First, you need to know the exact levels of chlorine in the pool and I mean the exact levels. If you don't have the ability to make this test yourself then please take a sample down to the pool store and have them test it. You can then bring back the results and recommendations and post them here or email them to me at robandliz1992@yahoo.com and I can get you a better answer. Specifically I am looking for pH, total chlorine, free chlorine, combined chlorine, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, total dissolved solids, and cyanuric acid levels.

Shocking the pool continuously? With how much and what type of shock? How many gallons is the pool? What color is the water... dark pea green, light green, or blue-green like turquoise? What is your pool constructed of? If you have a vinyl lined pool do NOT drain it, especially if you've had it in use for a year or more as this could damage the liner and you might have to replace it. There are relatively few problems in a pool that can not be corrected and would require draining of the water.

Get back to us soon with the results so we can give you a better answer.

What is the turn-over of your pump? (gallons or liters per hour) How many gallons/liters does your pump process over a 24 hour period? You have to give your pump time to circulate the chemicals in your pool for it to stabilize the chemistry before you can correct the problem. If your pH level is low, the you need to add some alkaline mixture. Check your test kit for the proper levels. If you chlorine is high, you can let the sun burn it off. You can probably still swim in it, the pH will is what affects your eyes so, wear goggles.

Sounds like my pool after either leaves or rain gets into it. Take water sample to local pool store for testing and I'm sure they will tell you to add some algacide as long as it's low on phosphates. If it is phosphates, which promote algee growth, you may have to drain off and replace water.

With the pump running, You need to brush it (wire pool brush) until your arms fall off! Use Liquid chlorine. Than clean your Pool filter, let it run over night, and, Here comes the fun part, Wire brush again till you new arms fall off. You need to get that off before black algae starts growing.Check your pool pump, and service it, maybe needs a new O ring, Could be it's dropping pressure, Maybe your not running it long enough. But anyways, if that sounds to much for you, get a pool service out there to do it for you, before you need to have it re-plastered because of black algae . I forgot to tell you , after you brush, and the water settles, you need to vacuum it.and wash out the hose after that. BYE.

You definatley need to start over... and keep the chlorine in it.. I like the chlorine tablets.. and always keep it covered when not in use. Buying all those shock chemicals at this point wont help.

This time of year trees and vegetation are putting out tons of fine particles in the air. Check your car. Is it covered by fine particles? That could be what's in your pool.

Are you adding pool acid or muriatic acid to the water? Also how about diatomos earth? Plus have you cleaned or changed your filter cartridges? Have a good day.
