I am working on a room that is 19x14. This is my first time doing a laminent floor. I am about 40% done when I realize I don't know what I am doing, after researching I found out that I am doing it all wrong. I didn't leave any expansion space and I didn't remove the trim arround the edges of the room. I did lay the waterproof plastic down and cleaned the baseboard very well. My question. I also found out that I should not be nailing the flooring down. I read somwhere that I should let it float. So two questions.

What happens to a house / floor si you don't leave expansion space.

what happens if you nail the laminant flooring down?

Thanks

I am a bigtime rookie at this and I think I really messed up

I bought silly putty and accidentally got it on the remote control buttons. The buttons are rubbery if that helps. I got it off but accidentally got it on the telephone whose buttons are the same. I got it off by putting the silly putty on and quickly removing it, but its not working for the phone.

It doesn't make sense. My husband heat stripped and refinished the surfaces and the sills are coming back as positive. We did get new windows and while the old windows were not lead, the outside framing that was covered is. Could just contact with lead paint cause other paints to test positive?

After coming home from college my mom thought she'd be nice and do my laundry, however she accidently put two pairs of my favorite jeans in the dryer and they shrunk down about 2 sizes. NO I did not gain weight, they fit just fine before the dryer incident. Any ideas on how to stretch them back out?

I mowed my lawn yesterday then stopped got off of the mower for a few minutes to view the lawn. Then when I got back on to finish mowing the mower would start but as soon as I shifted into gear and let off the clutch the mower would die. What would be causing the mower to do this?

Specifically there is this thing that looks like a crysalis (sorry I cant spell). But it moves and is in the dirt. I was digging in my garden and there was alot of grass growing in it. That is where I found them. They are brown, about an inch long, maybe less, and they are a bit shiny, and hard... in one spot I found 5 of them. O and I live in Mass. Any clue what it is?

This is a Particle board covered with veneer dresser. I have sanded, primed, and used 2 coats of black flat interior paint. The paint is completely dry, but it can be scratched off to reveal the Kilz underneath... What can I do to "seal" it? I dont want to have to constantly worry about having to touch up.
