It's a push mower with a Tecumseh engine and the crank shaft seems to be OK. It's the part of the shaft that extends from the bottom of the engine (the blade is bolted to it) that's bent. I've been able to straighten it quite a bit, but I've heard that it might be dangerous to use the mower once that shaft has been bent. Safe or unsafe? Any advice appreciated!

In Ireland as a child I learned to check every single berry for maggots and quite often found them too. Since coming to England I don't seem to find any maggots. Are they poisoned out or do they just not happen?

My mom wants to know... it won't be hot constantly -- it gets hot during the day and cooler at night. This is in Texas.

What is the best way to soundproof a sliding door?

I live in an old house with a 84" x 64" sliding door between me and my roommate's bedroom, and the sound carries almost as though there is nothing in between us.

I would prefer to do as little permanant damage to the walls as possible. Most of what I find searching for this seems like overkill. I'm not trying to build a recording studio in my room, I just want the sound to blocked at around the same level of any other wall in the house.

Will heavy curtains do this? Is sealing the cracks in the door more important? Some kind of cheap foam behind a curtain?

the shower has 2 knobs - one each for cold/hot water. I was able to take of the plastic handle but need to know how to disassemble the rest of it to get the "stem" off - I suspect a leaky washer, but not sure if I need specific tools for this disassembly.
