If you see a spot starting to turn yellowish, douse it with water and sprinkle some lime on it. The lime neutralizes the urine's acid. If you wait until the grass is already yellow/brown, it's too late.
Edit: By the way, I'm referring to garden lime, not the fruit.

Keep your dogs off the lawn.
Seriously, it does fertilize and help the grass grow greener, but concentrated, it overfertilizes.
That''s why you may notice dead spots that have tall green rings around them.
Pick up number two, and water down number one to dilute it.
I've noticed some dogs' business harms grass more than others. I've often thought the potency depends on the dog's diet, like dry dog food, or canned....?

water down and you can also use lime to sweeten the area. Do not give the dogs those pills to prevent the lawn from burning. They can give your dog urinary track infections

I see only 3 options here. You can either get rid of your dogs, live with the dead spots, or train them to only urinate in one area of your yard...say in a sand box, or graveled area.

Seems to make my grass grow longer and thicker. I can see where they go just because of that.

I understand that it is only bitches that kill lawns. I have also been told that if you mix up their food with tomato juice this will stop it
