I have a hot water knob in a bathtub that will not stop leaking. It is causing the actual spout to leak also. Is there a do it yourself link that will help me fix it? I can find tons of sites that help you fix a leaky sink or tub spout, but none of them say a WORD about the knob.

I have installed ceiling fans before with no problems until now. I just moved into this old duplex where the ac is crap and it's hot as balls outside. I finally break down and get a ceiling fan to install. So I get up to the light fixture, pop it off and to my surprise there aren't enough wires. There are four wires coming from two lines, both sets are black and white. The black wire from one line is connected to the light and the white wire from the other line is also connected to the light. And then the other black and white wires from the seperate lines are connected together. And oh I almost forgot there is no ground wire in sight. What do I do here???

When I walk into my bathroom (and often times in the restrooms at different department stores and restaurants, I notice that the water level is changing slightly higher and lower. This is even true in my basement where the floor is cement. could this be caused by movement in the city sewer lines from other homes?

Not allowed to kill them - state law. Won't trap them and release them far away; a friend tried that, but gave up after two years, as they seemed to return - and bring "friends" with them. Help!

The front door of my house has small shaped glass panels. One has shattered. It is a wood door. The glass had two panes one clear on the outside of the door, another inside the house with a glazed design. The outside pane, shattered. I guess the wood expanded. What should I do. The door is in good shape I do not want to replace it Also the glass is shattered but still in the window.

My home is 2200 sq ft. I will be painting the exterior of the home which is 18 years old. What is the best primer, paint and sheen to use? There are just so many options! Also, what should a bid include from a paint contractor? The ones that have come out are bidding labor only and telling me to get the paint. Is that standard?

Okay, I'm confused about my Kua number now. I am a female born in September of 1981. I always thought my Kua number was 5. But now I have one place telling me I am an 8 (Earth), and two other places telling me I am a 2 (Earth). Which one is right? And if I'm not a 5, please show/explain the math/logic as to how that works out. Thanks!

I purchased a houseplant quite a few months ago, and it got too big for the pot it was in. My husband replanted it, and now it's drooping and the leaves are turning brown and falling off.

I'm painting my bedroom a deep sky blue/teal-ish color and I'm painting my radiator a lavender. But my ceiling is going to be white and it sounds so boring all of a sudden. Any tips to spruce up my room a little bit more? I have a very tight budget.

Also: what is your view on mismatched wood types? Such as: my bed would be a mahogany but my dresser would be a pale oak (I think that's what it is).

We have just been a nightmare with a landlord. The lease was up the end of July, she came into the house on July 30th, and took things of value and threw the rest of the possessions out in the yard. Most of our major stuff had been moved, but there was plenty of stuff still there, including the microwave and the air conditioner. We just want people in our area to know she's a landlord to stay away from.

during my "time of the month" I had a little accident while I was unable to change my jeans and wash them. I tried to wash them twice and unfortunately, there is still an ugly rust color stain where the blood was. is there anything that I can put on it that will get rid of it and save my jeans or are they done for?? I know this is a gross subject but being a woman I think we've all been there some time in our life!!

I've recently started doing the wash on my own so as to get ready for college in the fall. My mom never used to let me TOUCH the washer/dryer, so now that I'm washing clothes, I'm sort of on my own.

When you sort them into piles, what could go with what? As I sort them now, I do:

T-shirts (all colors... Don't own anything white... Darn well-water)
My bras (mostly black)
Mom's bras (mostly white)
My socks, jeans, pants, capris, etc (mostly dark colored... Some light denim)
My underwear, Mom's underwear (multi colors)
Towels (dark)
Bed sheets (mostly dark)

I used to combine the underware in with the socks/jeans/etc, but I recently read a tip somewhere that women can get yeast infections from doing that! (If your socks are really dirty and the dirt gets trapped in the undies. YUCK!)

So, what I'm asking is: To minimize the number of loads I have to do, what could I combine with what and still be safe of nothing falling apart, etc etc?
